Lead Developer -------------------- OkCupid has an open Lead Developer position. We seek an outstanding technologist, with experience developing applications for a cluster of FreeBSD machines. Candidates should expect to work closely with the rest of the management team on many corporate management issues, but the primary responsibility will be developing the site and hiring and managing programmers. We seek someone with extensive C++ experience and a CS degree from a top school. A BA/BS is sufficient, but we invite advanced degree holders to apply as well. Ideal candidates will have 4-7 years of experience developing commercial code, and some experience managing developers and projects. Required skills/experience include: + Developing software in C++ on some Unix-like platform; + Experience with Python, Perl, and shell scripting; + Relational database experience, especially with MySQL; + Project management experience in a small, dynamic start-up; + Experience deploying large consumer-oriented website + Experience developing for and managing a FreeBSD cluster; + Experience working with legacy code desired; + Familiarity with security issues ; and + Understanding of asynchronous remote procedure calls.
