At the present, I am residing in North Carolina, but willing and able to relocate anywhere in the United States within a short time-frame, and within the World in a two-month time-frame. A senior programmer with extensive Solaris kernel and configuration experience is needed as the job requires kernel level programming and networks/filesystems, performance tuning and/or Open Source experience. A software development background with a solid understanding of system architecture is preferred. This engineer will work as a team member and must be able to work with multiple engineering teams and with minimal direction. Required knowledge, skills and education include a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; BS in ME/CS/EE; C or C++ language; detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with Solaris device drivers, high performance servers and high performance x86-based multiprocessor system architecture and with source management tools such as CVS or subversion.
