Does using deprecated keyboard driver still = work?=20 It's explained here: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-sparc64/2005-February/002775.h= tml You can grab a patch here: http://www.ijs.si/~lesi/xorg/xorg-server-sparc64-enabledepreckeyboard.dif= f It will remove the patch that obviously doesn't help and enable = 'keyboard'=20 driver on sparc64 platform. If this still works and nobody comes up with = something better, this should probably be commited. Can somebody explain the problem on X.Org mailing list=20 (xorg@lists.freedesktop.org=20 http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg) If no one is willing I'll let them know about this problem (since = 'keyboard'=20 driver is deprecated it will eventually go away), but it would probably = be=20 more useful if somebody with problem can mail them since of course it = would=20 be easier to communicate and debug this. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dejan: I'll try to test "xorg-server-sparc64-enabledepreckeyboard.diff" = tommorow=20 when I am back in the office. The point is rather that this is not a long-term solution. This 'keyboard' driver is scheduled to go away in next major release and so enabling it will of course be no longer possible. What is needed is to get the new 'kbd' driver to work (and this is where I failed). Furthermore, the old keyboard driver also doesn't work out of the box - in ports there is a patch that is also submitted to bugzilla: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1722 However, I see now that there seems to be similar bug at: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2587 This seems to be the same issue. If you could followup on that bug explaining that the same issue exists on FreeBSD, that would be great. Had network configuration problem with 5.3 release on Sparc Ultra 2. It has on-board hme, and qfe card. Was not able to use qfe ports... kept getting ipv6 duplicate address errors (i only use ipv4, mind you). I just installed (from scratch) 5.4 release. and i seem to have the same problem, only this time it starts when i config the first hme network port. Any ideas? I'd really like to be able to use the other (qfe) network ports.
