I've had a look through the list archives but can't quite work out what I need to do. I'm running a fresh 6.0 install on a Sun Ultra 10, and at the moment I've got the following in my xorg.conf: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard1" Driver "kbd" Option "XkbRules" "sun" Option "XkbModel" "type6" Option "XkbKeyCodes" "type6" Option "AutoRepeat" "500 30" EndSection I've tried various options, with both "kbd" and "keyboard" as the driver. Is there a patch I need to apply to get it to work? thanks, - steve From owner-freebsd-sparc64@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Nov 6 19:24:28 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: sparc64@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-sparc64@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9CE8516A41F; Sun, 6 Nov 2005 19:24:28 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from tinderbox@freebsd.org) Received: from smarthost1.sentex.ca (smarthost1.sentex.ca [64.7.153.18]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 07CAC43D66; Sun, 6 Nov 2005 19:24:23 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from tinderbox@freebsd.org) Received: from smtp2.sentex.ca (smtp2c.sentex.ca [64.7.153.30]) by smarthost1.sentex.ca (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id jA6JOMTR030085; Sun, 6 Nov 2005 14:24:22 -0500 (EST) (envelope-from tinderbox@freebsd.org) Received: from freebsd-current.sentex.ca (freebsd-current.sentex.ca [64.7.128.98]) by smtp2.sentex.ca (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id jA6JOMLP039901; Sun, 6 Nov 2005 14:24:22 -0500 (EST) (envelope-from tinderbox@freebsd.org) Received: by freebsd-current.sentex.ca (Postfix, from userid 666) id 680537302F; Sun, 6 Nov 2005 14:24:07 -0500 (EST) Sender: FreeBSD Tinderbox From: FreeBSD Tinderbox To: FreeBSD Tinderbox , , Precedence: bulk Message-Id: <20051106192407.680537302F@freebsd-current.sentex.ca> Date: Sun, 6 Nov 2005 14:24:07 -0500 (EST) X-Virus-Scanned: ClamAV version 0.85.1, clamav-milter version 0.85 on clamscanner2 X-Virus-Status: Clean X-Scanned-By: MIMEDefang 2.51 on 64.7.153.18 Cc: Subject: [head tinderbox] failure on sparc64/sparc64 X-BeenThere: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the Sparc List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 06 Nov 2005 19:24:28 -0000 TB --- 2005-11-06 17:53:11 - I've got xorg-server-6.8.2_6, built over the weekend, which looks like the latest. The keyboard is detected ok, with the following in dmesg: uart2: keyboard (1200,n,8,1) kbd0 at sunkbd0 Some of the keys work in xorg, but the keymapping seems to be wrong. thanks, - steve From owner-freebsd-sparc64@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Nov 7 10:00:18 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0DBCF16A463 for ; Mon, 7 Nov 2005 10:00:17 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from steve.joynt@gmail.com) Received: from xproxy.gmail.com (xproxy.gmail.com [66.249.82.201]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8A58C43D45 for ; Mon, 7 Nov 2005 10:00:17 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from steve.joynt@gmail.com) Received: by xproxy.gmail.com with SMTP id h32so72590wxd for ; Mon, 07 Nov 2005 02:00:16 -0800 (PST) DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; q=dns; c=nofws; s=beta; d=gmail.com; h=received:message-id:date:from:to:subject:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition:references; b=Hzstg0zwm5nEbCWOFEqnJt8QueApbQ1WkSs+gOa6YodRIYClcPI7Gxwfs5ExAHCX6nfcwIJbx3Zm3Af3G5dhUfXhD2cYkBdjagmzM8t7sIru2iFV3PuP0Zu9kZHzeO+wZsbdRYiIZLircj5IHai06yBMvLv0h46Q/GXFgzJWoCw= Received: by 10.70.57.8 with SMTP id f8mr125472wxa; Mon, 07 Nov 2005 02:00:16 -0800 (PST) Received: by 10.70.55.17 with HTTP; Mon, 7 Nov 2005 02:00:16 -0800 (PST) Message-ID: <17dbe5f00511070200o7909e0c0g@mail.gmail.com> Date: Mon, 7 Nov 2005 21:00:16 +1100 From: Steve Joynt To: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org In-Reply-To: <1131311827.15898.2.camel@localhost> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline References: <17dbe5f00511060244s80309b3m@mail.gmail.com> <1131311827.15898.2.camel@localhost> Subject: Re: sun keyboards in xorg X-BeenThere: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the Sparc List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 07 Nov 2005 10:00:18 -0000 I know have the keyboard working with the following: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard1" Driver "kbd" Option "XkbRules" "sun" Option "XkbModel" "type5" Option "XkbLayout" "us" Option "XkbGeometry" "sun(type5)" Option "AutoRepeat" "500 30" EndSection Note that both the XkbModel and XkbGeometry use type 5, even though the back of the keyboard definitely says it's type 6 (part no. 3201270-01).
