I think I read that a machine crashed and things were moved to another machine. I expect it is something simple like a missing tmp directory or bad persmissions or something on the new machine. So, your document is in Spanish. Definitively there's a lack of material in Spanish in our tree, but take in mind that the documentation's official language is the American English. I'm not sure if there is a way of including documents in the tree written in another languages. Maybe we can put it on-line in our server, www.es.FreeBSD.org/ . Currently changing of colocation, by the way. > the work is basically about the concepts of SO applied to FreeBSD > > ok i'll be waiting for an answer.. > If there is no objection, I'll take care on this. Are you SURE you want to continue the installation? I selected "Yes". The filesystems were created, then the following error = occurred:=20 Unable to transfer the base installation from acd0 This may sound incredibly stupid but I spent a fair bit of time trying = to troubleshoot this before I tried removing the boot CD, inserting the = on created from 5.4-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso and THEN selecting "Yes" to = continue the installation. I assumed that when it was necessary to swap CD's I would be prompted. = This was not the case. In checking the installation instructions in the = handbook there is also no mention of removing the boot CD and inserting = the next one before continuing. I realize that the CD image name contains the string "bootonly". Still, = you might consider having the install script check for the correct CD or = give some kind of reminder when to change it, or perhaps make a note in = your instructions as to when the CD should be swapped. Perhaps by pointing out where I got confused I can prevent some other = dummy from getting caught the same way. Cheers! RPK. These represent problem reports covering all versions including experimental development code and obsolete releases. Bugs can be in one of several states: o - open A problem report has been submitted, no sanity checking performed. a - analyzed The problem is understood and a solution is being sought. f - feedback Further work requires additional information from the originator or the community - possibly confirmation of the effectiveness of a proposed solution. p - patched A patch has been committed, but some issues (MFC and / or confirmation from originator) are still open. s - suspended The problem is not being worked on, due to lack of information or resources. This is a prime candidate for somebody who is looking for a project to do. If the problem cannot be solved at all, it will be closed, rather than suspended. c - closed A problem report is closed when any changes have been integrated, documented, and tested -- or when fixing the problem is abandoned. From: Michael Nottebrock To: bug-followup@freebsd.org, lofi@freebsd.org Cc: Subject: Re: docs/94867: Remove outdated KDM instructions from the FreeBSD handbook Date: Tue, 28 Mar 2006 02:22:18 +0200 I didn't give any changes, I pointed out specific sections in the the chapter which are entirely obsolete. If you like, you can copy the Q&A from the FKO Faq on KDM and make it the new KDM section, but I'd much prefer to have all the mentioned sections removed. Wrong documentation is worse than no documentation and http://freebsd.kde.org is a much more convenient way for us (the KDE maintainers) to provide documentation on FreeBSD-specific KDE matters. Under msleep instead. Really, msleep() is the general call now, tsleep() is just a special case that hardcodes the mtx argument as NULL. Thus, the manpage should probably describe msleep() as the primary function and then describe tsleep() as an msleep() without a mtx arg. =2D-=20 John Baldwin =A0<>< =A0http://www.FreeBSD.org/~jhb/ "Power Users Use the Power to Serve" =A0=3D =A0http://www.FreeBSD.org From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Mar 30 13:00:56 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-doc@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 92CEC16A401 for ; Thu, 30 Mar 2006 13:00:56 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 229C443D46 for ; Thu, 30 Mar 2006 13:00:56 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id k2UD0t6e065136 for ; Thu, 30 Mar 2006 13:00:56 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id k2UD0tLm065135; Thu, 30 Mar 2006 13:00:55 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2006 13:00:55 GMT Message-Id: <200603301300.k2UD0tLm065135@freefall.freebsd.org> To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org From: John Baldwin Cc: Subject: Re: docs/95104: tsleep() man page mentions nonexistent 'mtx' arg X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: John Baldwin List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2006 13:00:56 -0000 The following reply was made to PR docs/95104; it has been noted by GNATS. Congratulations and THANK YOU Just wanted to add a comment, I had a trouble configuring my computer to work as a router and gateway. So I went to the part of Gateways and Routes in Advanced Networking, but i just didn't work. I realized (after 2 re-installations :( and some google troubleshooting) I was missing the NAT service, but i didn't read nothing about it on the gateways and routes part= . A reference would help for those it wasn't obvious :( :p Thank you -- ________________________ David Rodr=EDguez From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Apr 1 02:01:58 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B591716A426 for ;
