I'm thinking of gstripe, gvirstor, ... However, it supports block-level snapshots which is not possible on FreeBSD currently AFAIK. I guess gjournal has some backends that might be used to create gsnapshot. It would be pretty useful in some case, especially when FreeBSD will support Xen Dom0. For instance, one can create a bare FreeBSD install in a vnode-backed md(4) file, apply gsnapshot on it to create N writable snapshots. When a DomU instance will write into it, a Copy-On-Write mechanism will be triggered to make the changes elsewere. For more information, type "lvm snapshot cow" on Google. Is there any work in this area at the moment ? Thank you ! Regards, -- Jeremie Le Hen < jeremie at le-hen dot org >< ttz at chchile dot org >
