After loading kernel module ifconfig shows: #ifconfig ndis0: flags=8843 mtu 1500 inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0xff000000 broadcast 255.255.255.255 ether 00:14:6c:72:35:2a media: IEEE 802.11 Wireless Ethernet autoselect status: no carrier ssid "" channel 1 authmode OPEN privacy OFF txpowmax 100 protmode CT However, when try to scan for access point I get: #ifconfig ndis0 scan ifconfig: unable to get scan results I am sure that my access point is functional because I am running FreeBSD 6.1 also on laptop where NETGEAR WG511 PCMCIA card works prefectly (with NDIS). All network configuration is the same on both computers. When I unload and then load kernel module machine hangs with no log messages saved. The ndis drivers generated from Win2k, Win98 give the same result. At the begining I inserted WG311 into first PCI slot where it did not work at all (probaly irq problem), then I put it in another PCI slot so at least ifconfig showed me something. Any ideas how to make it functional? thanks! /Alexander Konovalenko From owner-freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Jun 5 20:24:47 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 442D416C72E for ; Mon, 5 Jun 2006 20:24:47 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from patpro@patpro.net) Received: from smtp4-g19.free.fr (smtp4-g19.free.fr [212.27.42.30]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E207143D46 for ; Mon, 5 Jun 2006 20:24:46 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from patpro@patpro.net) Received: from [82.235.12.223] (boleskine.patpro.net [82.235.12.223]) by smtp4-g19.free.fr (Postfix) with ESMTP id D0E8F53FBC for ; Mon, 5 Jun 2006 22:24:45 +0200 (CEST) Mime-Version: 1.0 (Apple Message framework v750) Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed To: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org From: Patrick Proniewski Date: Mon, 5 Jun 2006 22:24:45 +0200 X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.750) Subject: support for xeon LV (sossaman) X-BeenThere: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: General discussion of FreeBSD hardware List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 05 Jun 2006 20:24:56 -0000 Hello, I'm planning to buy a dual Xeon LV board from supermicro, and after a bit of research, I've found this bug report: http://www.freebsd.org/ cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=96203 It's not really clear to me what freebsd release now supports correctly the Xeon LV processor. Taking a look at the changes in the patch you have a "did" of 0x2700 for 945 support. Should this be looking for the Memory controller or the PCI-E controller? 0x2700 is the Memory Controller and 0x2701 is the PCI-e. Will try to get a better log, any suggestions considering the HDD will not mount? I can still see fd0. Thanks for you help.
