I've just got a PowerMac G4 @ 533MHz, 512 MB RAM and two internal disks into the house. I noticed that the ISO images on Peter's web page are from 2005, should I just use one of those, or is there a place to get neweer images? -- Regards, Torfinn Ingolfsen, Norway From owner-freebsd-ppc@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Mar 25 23:41:41 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E2D6416A422 for ; Sat, 25 Mar 2006 23:41:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no) Received: from osl1smout1.broadpark.no (osl1smout1.broadpark.no [80.202.4.58]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 882CE43D55 for ; Sat, 25 Mar 2006 23:41:39 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no) Received: from osl1sminn1.broadpark.no ([80.202.4.59]) by osl1smout1.broadpark.no (Sun Java System Messaging Server 6.1 HotFix 0.05 (built Oct 21 2004)) with ESMTP id <0IWP005AFJ5E9R20@osl1smout1.broadpark.no> for freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org; Sun, 26 Mar 2006 00:41:38 +0100 (CET) Received: from kg-work.kg4.no ([80.202.172.162]) by osl1sminn1.broadpark.no (Sun Java System Messaging Server 6.1 HotFix 0.05 (built Oct 21 2004)) with SMTP id <0IWP00223J5DW090@osl1sminn1.broadpark.no> for freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org; Sun, 26 Mar 2006 00:41:38 +0100 (CET) Date: Sun, 26 Mar 2006 00:41:37 +0100 From: Torfinn Ingolfsen X-Face: "t9w2,-X@O^I`jVW\sonI3.,36KBLZE*AL[y9lL[PyFD*r_S:dIL9c[8Y>V42R0"!"yb_zN,f#%.[PYYNq; m"_0v; ~rUM2Yy!zmkh)3&U|u!=T(zyv,MHJv"nDH>OJ`t(@mil461d_B'Uo|'nMwlKe0Mv=kvV?Nh@>Hb<3s_z2jYgZhPb@?Wi^x1a~Hplz1.zH In-reply-to: <0IWN008E8K1U5Q70@osl1sminn1.broadpark.no> To: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Message-id: <20060326004137.28ffac68.torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no> MIME-version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Sylpheed version 1.0.6 (GTK+ 1.2.10; i386-portbld-freebsd5.4) Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT References: <20060324225208.1663ec38.torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no> <0IWN008E8K1U5Q70@osl1sminn1.broadpark.no> Subject: Re: Development PowerMac G4 - which FreeBSD version should I install? Ok, are there any workarounds for this problem? I still have a FreeBSD installation on my Mac mini (ok, on an external fw drive connected to the mini), so if there is a workaround I could use that to build a new kernel, cd or whatever. -- Regards, Torfinn Ingolfsen, Norway From owner-freebsd-ppc@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Mar 25 23:44:14 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2C04516A422 for ; Sat, 25 Mar 2006 23:44:14 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no) Received: from osl1smout1.broadpark.no (osl1smout1.broadpark.no [80.202.4.58]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9EA2043D45 for ; Sat, 25 Mar 2006 23:44:13 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no) Received: from osl1sminn1.broadpark.no ([80.202.4.59]) by osl1smout1.broadpark.no (Sun Java System Messaging Server 6.1 HotFix 0.05 (built Oct 21 2004)) with ESMTP id <0IWP005BIJ9O9Q20@osl1smout1.broadpark.no> for freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org; Sun, 26 Mar 2006 00:44:12 +0100 (CET) Received: from kg-work.kg4.no ([80.202.172.162]) by osl1sminn1.broadpark.no (Sun Java System Messaging Server 6.1 HotFix 0.05 (built Oct 21 2004)) with SMTP id <0IWP00168J9OZZG0@osl1sminn1.broadpark.no> for freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org; Sun, 26 Mar 2006 00:44:12 +0100 (CET) Date: Sun, 26 Mar 2006 00:44:12 +0100 From: Torfinn Ingolfsen X-Face: "t9w2,-X@O^I`jVW\sonI3.,36KBLZE*AL[y9lL[PyFD*r_S:dIL9c[8Y>V42R0"!"yb_zN,f#%.[PYYNq; m"_0v; ~rUM2Yy!zmkh)3&U|u!=T(zyv,MHJv"nDH>OJ`t(@mil461d_B'Uo|'nMwlKe0Mv=kvV?Nh@>Hb<3s_z2jYgZhPb@?Wi^x1a~Hplz1.zH In-reply-to: <20060325135957.GA4783@boinc.ch> To: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Message-id: <20060326004412.1bfcf6ad.torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no> MIME-version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Sylpheed version 1.0.6 (GTK+ 1.2.10; i386-portbld-freebsd5.4) Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT References: <20060324225208.1663ec38.torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no> <20060325135957.GA4783@boinc.ch> Subject: Re: Development PowerMac G4 - which FreeBSD version should I install?
