Note that the Active flag isn't stored in the boot code, but in the partition table. When you create the FreeBSD slice in the MBR during installation, it will have the Active flag set. You can manually reset the Active flag on the Windows partition before exiting that stage of the disk editor and things should work as expected. Would you be able to try that out and verify that? =2D-=20 John Baldwin =A0<>< =A0http://www.FreeBSD.org/~jhb/ "Power Users Use the Power to Serve" =A0=3D =A0http://www.FreeBSD.org From owner-freebsd-qa@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Jun 19 20:59:30 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-qa@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-qa@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 719CB16A47B for ; Mon, 19 Jun 2006 20:59:30 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jari.aalto@cante.net) Received: from fep32-app.kolumbus.fi (fep32-0.kolumbus.fi [193.229.0.63]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 99E6443D6B for ; Mon, 19 Jun 2006 20:59:27 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from jari.aalto@cante.net) Received: from bongo.cante.net ([81.197.0.130]) by fep32-app.kolumbus.fi with ESMTP id <20060619205925.TIRX28725.fep32-app.kolumbus.fi@bongo.cante.net>; Mon, 19 Jun 2006 23:59:25 +0300 Received: from fw.cante.net ([192.168.1.3] helo=cante) by bongo.cante.net with esmtps (TLS-1.0:RSA_AES_256_CBC_SHA1:32) (Exim 4.62) (envelope-from ) id 1FsQpi-0002AC-J7; Mon, 19 Jun 2006 23:58:54 +0300 Received: from jaalto by cante with local (Exim 4.62) (envelope-from ) id 1FsQpg-0002x9-8H; Mon, 19 Jun 2006 23:58:52 +0300 To: pkg-shadow-devel@lists.alioth.debian.org References: <20060509153807.16297.97467.reportbug@cante> Message-Id: From: Jari Aalto Date: Mon, 19 Jun 2006 23:58:52 +0300 Cc: 366541-quiet@bugs.debian.org, freebsd-qa@freebsd.org, bubulle@debian.org, mstone@debian.org, 366545-quiet@bugs.debian.org, 366546-quiet@bugs.debian.org, anibal@debian.org Subject: Re: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender X-BeenThere: freebsd-qa@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Quality Assurance List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 19 Jun 2006 20:59:30 -0000 | > To Shadow list: please consider moving: | > | > /usr/bin/nologin -> /bin/nologin | > | > so that other packages could start using 'nologin' instead of current | > /bin/false. | | This seems fair by me. I wonder whether this should deserve a | transition or just move the binary....After all, nologin is not here | since a long time so it's pretty unlikely that many packages use it | (for instance to define it as some created users shell). | | I'm tempted to avoid a complicated transition. Advices? I've CC'd packages where I've been advogating nologin in Debian. The binary is not yet widely used, so just move it so that we can get full potential of nologin to forthcoming etch. | I think that this suggestion should go to upstream as well. Having | nologin in /bin does not make sense only for Debian, of course. | | Tomasz? Than would be FreeBSD devel list.
