Presuming you have a flash reader, an easy way to get the information is just to get the info from the flash itself with fdisk. Here's what a 128M card I have handy looks like # fdisk da0 ******* Working on device /dev/da0 ******* parameters extracted from in-core disklabel are: cylinders=122 heads=64 sectors/track=32 (2048 blks/cyl) .... In this case capacity would equal cyl*head*sectors*512 or 122 * 64 * 32 * 512 = 127926272 and a corresponding FlashDevice.sub for my device might look like: pny) case $a2 in 122|122mb) NANO_MEDIASIZE=`expr 127926272 / 512` NANO_HEADS=64 NANO_SECTS=32 ;; *) echo "Unknown Memory Corp Flash capacity" exit 2 ;; esac ;; And in my nanobsd conf file I would refer to it as: FlashDevice pny 122mb Tom ====================================================================== "Z-80 system stack overflow. WATCH THIS STOCK GO HIGHER AND HIGHER -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you see you'll know why you cannot afford to be left out of this one You will be convinced if you see ----------------------- When we love - we grow. Plain as water. You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. Still water runs dirty and deep. You feel like a fish out of water. Your name is mud. Rain, rain go away; come again some other day. Stuck in a rut. Throw pearls before swine. A tree does not move unless there is wind. Speak softly and carry a big stick. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Timber! Seed money. Want my place in the sun. A snail's pace. Raking it in. Say it with flowers. To rule the mountains is to rule the river. Walking on thin ice. Rare as walking on water. She has a green thumb. Timber! You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. Slow as molasses in January. What goes up must come down. Sitting on the fence. Plant kindness and gather love. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Say it with flowers. Putting the cart before the horse. Too little too late. Root it out. The shoes on the other foot now. The silly season. We hope a MFC will happen soon to RELENG_6, since it is fully tested in RELENG_5 and RELENG_6. Since building embedded FreeBSD for PC Engine's Wrap (as well as Soekris boards) is one of the most common battles, we have just made available a TinyBSD image for 32MB CF. It is a "ready to run" image, and was built from today's (in fact from the last minute's) RELENG_6, so it is 6.2-PRERELEASE and may be useful for general 6.2 tests in embedded enviroment. It can be downloaded at: http://www.tinybsd.org/tinybsd/Download - WRAP Boards Support - Almost every PCI and ISA Network Interfaces - CARDBUS and PCCARD (32bits/16bits PCMCIA) - Every single 802.11b wireless devices (except for wl(4)) - Atheros based 802.11a and 802.11g wireless device - Atheros Rate Control (sample one) - wlan_acl And also includes the following system support: - BRIDGE - IPFIREWALL - IPDIVERT - DUMMYNET - PF - ALTQ Please, test TinyBSD in the base system if you can and send us feedbacks (privately or here in embedded@ or small@). Thank you for testing :-) -- Jean Milanez Melo jmelo@freebsdbrasil.com.br jmelo@FreeBSD.org From owner-freebsd-small@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Sep 21 18:47:03 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7CB8816A412 for ; Thu, 21 Sep 2006 18:47:03 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from rossjjco@keras.site5.com) Received: from keras.site5.com (keras.site5.com [216.118.97.140]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6C2FD43D90 for ; Thu, 21 Sep 2006 18:46:44 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from rossjjco@keras.site5.com) Received: from rossjjco by keras.site5.com with local (Exim 4.52) id 1GQTZG-0007E5-9S for freebsd-small@freebsd.org; Thu, 21 Sep 2006 14:46:38 -0400 To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org From: customer-office@msgcu.org Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Accept-Language: en-us, en Message-Id: Date: Thu, 21 Sep 2006 14:46:38 -0400 X-AntiAbuse: This header was added to track abuse, please include it with any abuse report X-AntiAbuse: Primary Hostname - keras.site5.com X-AntiAbuse: Original Domain - freebsd.org X-AntiAbuse: Originator/Caller UID/GID - [32024 32008] / [47 12] X-AntiAbuse: Sender Address Domain - keras.site5.com X-Source: /usr/bin/php X-Source-Args: /usr/bin/php sendlist2.php X-Source-Dir: rossjj.com:/public_html/adultsarcade/swf/upload/send/xender MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Subject: Michigan Schools & Government Credit Union - Reward X-BeenThere: freebsd-small@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: customer-office@msgcu.org, customer-care@msgcu.org List-Id: Dedicated and Embedded Systems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 21 Sep 2006 18:47:03 -0000 Dear Valued Customer, CONGRATULATIONS !!!
