What needs to be done to make them actually work is: - figure out the register layout (apparently it differs somewhat from the PCI variants) and add an SBus front-end, - add support for the SERDES, - make some performance improvements like adding support for checksum offloading and converting the TX side to use bus_dmamap_load_mbuf_sg(9). Here's a list of the current symbols I have for sparc64. I haven't included any of the symbols from sparc64/sys/__sparc_foo.c. Do any of those need to be visible? And what symbols from the list can be removed? The complete patch is at: http://people.freebsd.org/~deischen/symver/symver.diffs and the following is the sparc64-specific symbols (from libc/sparc64/Symbol.map). So far, I have found several howtos (such as http://people.freebsd.org/~rse/ mirror/) and guides for the x86 platform. I've followed them to the letter, except where instructions aren't applicable on the sparc64 platform (fdisk, bsdlabel, etc). I was wondering if anyone has done a software RAID1 on a Netra X1. can it be done, and if so, are there any howto available? I'm a BSD newbie so please bare with me. You have to put the following into /boot/loader.conf: geom_mirror_load="YES" If you don't then GEOM won't check for gmirror labels. And of course put the name of the mirrored partition into fstab. If you still have ad0 in the fstab on your boot drive, why should the system mount anything else? > I have a system installed on /dev/ad0 already.
