I have following problem. I have Palm Tungsten C and FreeBSD 6.1 on my laptop. I'm trying to synhronize my palm with freebsd, but without any success. What i did: in kernel added devices: ucom and uvisor. in usbd.conf: device "Palm Handheld" devname "ucom[0-9]+" vendor 0x0830 product 0x0060 release 0x0100 attach "ln -fs /dev/ucom0 /dev/pilot; chmod 666 /dev/ucom0" When i press sync button on palm, i see in messages: Feb 19 02:50:29 blue kernel: ucom0: Palm, Inc. Palm Handheld, rev 1.00/1.00, addr 2 And in /dev directory i get cuaU0 and ttyU0, but not ucom0. Ok, i saw in one message, that now ttyU0 should be used instead of ucom0, but when i'm trying: pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyU0 -i palm/softs/Tube/Tube2.prc nothing happens... What i'm doing wrong? Why ucom0 doesn't exist? Maybe someone got similar problems? Thank You! I have successfully been using my Tungsten C with 6.1-PRERELEASE, I have my sync software talk directly to /dev/cuaU0 and it just works, once I got the permissions straightened out. I have used pilot-xfer as well as KPilot/Kontact. I did not add any entries in usbd.conf, but I did experiment with devfs.rules for setting the permissions. It turned out, however, that IPFW[2] is not a=20 complete in-place replacement for IP6FW as IPFW2 syntax has diverted from t= he=20 IPFW1/IP6FW syntax too much. I am unsure about the plans for IPFW+IPv6 in= =20 RELENG_6, HEAD certainly moves to removal of IP6FW, but more testers as=20 required. But you didn't show us output from "ls -la /" so please judge by yourself. -- Yar From owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Feb 19 11:15:36 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 68B7416A420; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 11:15:36 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from yar@comp.chem.msu.su) Received: from comp.chem.msu.su (comp.chem.msu.su [158.250.32.97]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7641243D46; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 11:15:32 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from yar@comp.chem.msu.su) Received: from comp.chem.msu.su (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by comp.chem.msu.su (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id k1JBFL4Z022871; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 14:15:21 +0300 (MSK) (envelope-from yar@comp.chem.msu.su) Received: (from yar@localhost) by comp.chem.msu.su (8.13.3/8.13.3/Submit) id k1JBFLtL022870; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 14:15:21 +0300 (MSK) (envelope-from yar) Date: Sun, 19 Feb 2006 14:15:20 +0300 From: Yar Tikhiy To: Hajimu UMEMOTO Message-ID: <20060219111520.GD20500@comp.chem.msu.su> References: <5e9d9fe557ea6dedf8f173c257a0c7a9@kobudo.homeunix.net> <43F7CB2B.30402@plosh.net> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.9i Cc: Peter Losher , freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Subject: Re: IPv6 and IPFW X-BeenThere: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Production branch of FreeBSD source code List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 19 Feb 2006 11:15:36 -0000 On Sun, Feb 19, 2006 at 04:38:21PM +0900, Hajimu UMEMOTO wrote: > Hi, > > >>>>> On Sat, 18 Feb 2006 17:34:35 -0800 > >>>>> Peter Losher said: > > plosher> [1 ] > plosher> Hajimu UMEMOTO wrote: > > > The ipfw in 6-STABLE has an IPv6 awareness, but it is not enabled as > > far as you use ipfw as a KLD module. Please note here that ipfw.ko obeys INET6 and IPSEC options, but not IPFIREWALL_* ones yet. The latter still are to be fixed for the module build. -- Yar From owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Feb 19 11:22:47 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2040316A420 for ; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 11:22:47 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from yar@comp.chem.msu.su) Received: from comp.chem.msu.su (comp.chem.msu.su [158.250.32.97]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B0E1343D45 for ; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 11:22:43 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from yar@comp.chem.msu.su) Received: from comp.chem.msu.su (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by comp.chem.msu.su (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id k1JBMcFE022982; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 14:22:38 +0300 (MSK) (envelope-from yar@comp.chem.msu.su) Received: (from yar@localhost) by comp.chem.msu.su (8.13.3/8.13.3/Submit) id k1JBMcgF022981; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 14:22:38 +0300 (MSK) (envelope-from yar) Date: Sun, 19 Feb 2006 14:22:38 +0300 From: Yar Tikhiy To: Per olof Ljungmark Message-ID: <20060219112238.GE20500@comp.chem.msu.su> References: <43F4DF01.4060704@intersonic.se> <43F6E00C.1080305@intersonic.se> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <43F6E00C.1080305@intersonic.se> User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.9i Cc: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Subject: Re: smb_ntencrypt: password encryption is not available #2 X-BeenThere: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Production branch of FreeBSD source code List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 19 Feb 2006 11:22:47 -0000 On Sat, Feb 18, 2006 at 09:51:24AM +0100, Per olof Ljungmark wrote: > Per olof Ljungmark wrote: > >Well, > >options NETSMBCRYPTO > >options NETSMB > >did not work out very well: > >Do I need anything else here? > > > >> smb_usr.o(.text+0x4ad):/usr/src/sys/netsmb/smb_usr.c:274: undefined > >reference to `md_get_mem' > >smb_usr.o(.text+0x4fe): In function `smb_cpdatain': > >/usr/src/sys/netsmb/smb_usr.c:291: undefined reference to `mb_init' > >smb_usr.o(.text+0x513):/usr/src/sys/netsmb/smb_usr.c:294: undefined > >reference to `mb_put_mem' > >smb_usr.o(.text+0x63a): In function `smb_usr_t2request': > >/usr/src/sys/netsmb/smb_usr.c:340: undefined reference to `md_get_mem' > >smb_usr.o(.text+0x689):/usr/src/sys/netsmb/smb_usr.c:353: undefined > >reference to `md_get_mem' > >*** Error code 1 > > > >Stop in /usr/obj/usr/src/sys/IKO. > >*** Error code 1 > > > >Stop in /usr/src. > >*** Error code 1 > > > >Stop in /usr/src. > >_______________________________________________ > > apparently the answer was to use > options NETSMBCRYPTO > only. I'm glad you figured that out by yourself. I should have posted a heads-up on this change to -stable earlier, sorry. P.S. "options NETSMB" will tell to compile NETSMB in the main kernel file, which requires additional options, LIBMCHAIN and LIBICONV. OTOH, they are auto-loaded as modules when smbfs is a module, too. -- Yar From owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Feb 19 11:59:34 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: stable@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 490D916A420 for ; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 11:59:34 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from nike_d@cytexbg.com) Received: from mail.interbgc.com (mx02.interbgc.com [217.9.224.227]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id E007843D49 for ; Sun, 19 Feb 2006 11:59:32 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from nike_d@cytexbg.com) Received: (qmail 54502 invoked from network); 19 Feb 2006 11:59:30 -0000 Received: from nike_d@cytexbg.com by keeper.interbgc.com by uid 1002 with qmail-scanner-1.14 (uvscan: v4.2.40/v4374. spamassassin: 2.63.
