Running usbdevs after bootup gives an error message: addr 0: (this shouldn't happen) (or something like that). If I leave the computer for a small while (1-2 min), I get error messages similar to the above, but with SET_ADDR_FAILED in parenthesis. I can unplug devices and put them somewhere else, but I get the SET_ADDR_FAILED error messages with FreeBSD reporting that it has disabled the corresponding port, rendering the device unusable or undetectable. This prevents me from using my USB Ethernet modem (Motorola SB5100), which otherwise ends up with a device node (/dev/net/cdce0). Disabling and enabling ACPI seems to make no difference (same error messages). I am using a Gigabyte GA-7DX+ motherboard, latest BIOS update. It has a VIA 686B south-bridge chipset, and a AMD 761 chipset. I'm thinking that the drivers are not giving enough time to the usb bus to send data back. The hardware works correctly and without errors in Windows 2000, and works with Linux kernel version 2.6.14, with the irqpoll option on (without this, the Linux usb stack would crash, reporting an irq conflict, which I think I solved by moving by SBLive5.1 card). >How-To-Repeat: Hardware: Gigabyte GA-7DX+ motherboard (AMD 761 chipset, VIA 686B south-bridge) AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 2 usb ports with following layout: port 0: nothing port 1: generic usb hub with 4 ports port 1a: brother hl2040 printer port 1b: Motorola Surfboard SB5100 modem port 1c,1d: nothing try bootup with devices plugged in. >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Jan 22 15:02:37 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0C47E16A41F for ; Sun, 22 Jan 2006 15:02:37 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from rab@mall.freebsdmall.com) Received: from mail.freebsdmall.com (ns1.freebsdmall.com [69.50.233.146]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DA44543D45 for ; Sun, 22 Jan 2006 15:02:36 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from rab@mall.freebsdmall.com) Received: from mall.freebsdmall.com (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mail.freebsdmall.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id CF2A11CDCF; Sun, 22 Jan 2006 07:02:36 -0800 (PST) To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Date: Sun, 22 Jan 2006 07:02:36 -0800 From: Robert Bruce Message-Id: <20060122150236.CF2A11CDCF@mail.freebsdmall.com> Cc: Subject: Non-blocking I/O on bulk endpoints X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 22 Jan 2006 15:02:37 -0000 If I open a USB endpoint with the O_NONBLOCK bit set, it works okay if it is an "interrupt" endpoint, and will return EWOULDBLOCK for a read() if there is no data. But if it is a "bulk" endpoint, the read() will block. So I tried using select() to find out if there was data available before trying to read it. But select() seems to work properly only for "interrupt" endpoints. On a "bulk" endpoint, select() always reports that there is data ready to be read, even when there is not. Is there any way to do non-blocking I/O on a bulk endpoint? I looked at sys/dev/usb/ugen.c, and it looks like non-blocking I/O is intentionally left out for bulk endpoints. So maybe there is something that makes it difficult to implement. I am running FreeBSD 6.0, on an AMD64, if that makes any difference. -bob From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Jan 22 22:07:03 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-usb@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7CC1716A41F; Sun, 22 Jan 2006 22:07:03 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 297DC43D46; Sun, 22 Jan 2006 22:07:03 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (linimon@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id k0MM73Wb032304; Sun, 22 Jan 2006 22:07:03 GMT (envelope-from linimon@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from linimon@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id k0MM72XY032300; Sun, 22 Jan 2006 22:07:02 GMT (envelope-from linimon) Date: Sun, 22 Jan 2006 22:07:02 GMT From: Mark Linimon Message-Id: <200601222207.k0MM72XY032300@freefall.freebsd.org> To: linimon@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: usb/92171: [panic] panic unplugging Vodafone Mobile Connect (UMTS) 3G/GPRS Datacard X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 22 Jan 2006 22:07:03 -0000 Old Synopsis: panic unplugging Vodafone Mobile Connect (UMTS) 3G/GPRS Datacard New Synopsis: [panic] panic unplugging Vodafone Mobile Connect (UMTS) 3G/GPRS Datacard Responsible-Changed-From-To: freebsd-bugs->freebsd-usb Responsible-Changed-By: linimon Responsible-Changed-When: Sun Jan 22 22:06:20 UTC 2006 Responsible-Changed-Why: Over to maintainer(s). http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=92171 From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Jan 23 10:50:27 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7F87016A422 for ; Mon, 23 Jan 2006 10:50:27 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from LoN_Kamikaze@gmx.de) Received: from mail.gmx.net (mail.gmx.net [213.165.64.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 4A2FA43D5C for ; Mon, 23 Jan 2006 10:50:25 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from LoN_Kamikaze@gmx.de) Received: (qmail invoked by alias); 23 Jan 2006 10:50:24 -0000 Received: from p54A7F99D.dip.t-dialin.net (EHLO [192.168.0.12]) [84.167.249.157] by mail.gmx.net (mp035) with SMTP; 23 Jan 2006 11:50:24 +0100 X-Authenticated: #5465401 Message-ID: <43D4B4A9.40908@gmx.de> Date: Mon, 23 Jan 2006 11:49:13 +0100 From: "[LoN]Kamikaze" Organization: Lords of Nightmare User-Agent: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.7 (X11/20051219) X-Accept-Language: en-us, en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Enigmail-Version: 0.93.0.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="------------enigD14CC06742A362C452BFBA8B" X-Y-GMX-Trusted: 0 Subject: PCMCIA USB card problems X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 23 Jan 2006 10:50:27 -0000 This is an OpenPGP/MIME signed message (RFC 2440 and 3156) --------------enigD14CC06742A362C452BFBA8B Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I've got an 4 Port PCMCIA connector with a VIA chipset. The manual claims it's an OHCI/EHCI device, but FreeBSD identifies it as an VIA 83C572 UHCI device. After the identification there is a nonesaying errormessage and the system crashs. Compiling the kernel without UHCI I get the following output when I put the card into the slot: cardbus0: Expecting link target, got 0xff cardbus0: Resource not specified in CIS: id=14, size=100 cardbus0: Resource not specified in CIS: id=20, size=20 cardbus0: at device 0.0 (no driver attached) cardbus0: Expecting link target, got 0xff cardbus0: Resource not specified in CIS: id=14, size=100 cardbus0: Resource not specified in CIS: id=20, size=20 cardbus0: at device 0.1 (no driver attached) cardbus0: Expecting link target, got 0xff cardbus0: Resource not specified in CIS: id=10, size=100 cardbus0: Resource not specified in CIS: id=14, size=100 ehci1: mem 0xc0208000-0xc02080ff,0xc0209000-0xc02090ff irq 11 at device 0.2 on cardbus0 ehci1: [GIANT-LOCKED] usb1: EHCI version 1.0 usb1: wrong number of companions (2 != 0) usb1: unrecoverable error, controller halted usb1: blocking intrs 0x10 usb1: run timeout ehci1: USB init failed err=13 device_attach: ehci1 attach returned 5 The system doesn't crash, but obviously it doesn't work either. Anyway that output looks more useful, maybe someone here can give me a hint, or is the chipset simply not supportet (the VIA 83C572 is in the supportet hardware list, but I don't know weather that realy is the chipset or just what FreeBSD thinks it is). --------------enigD14CC06742A362C452BFBA8B Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFD1LSwfMDIb41/+S0RAnkVAJwOA5TS4N0yBgsccoV/sFxaom0c+gCbBJ7e Y/BX44HjrK68+EsqRoRGaVg= =+oFq -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------enigD14CC06742A362C452BFBA8B-- From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Jan 23 11:03:07 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2BFFC16A41F for ; Mon, 23 Jan 2006 11:03:07 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D04CB43D7C for ; Mon, 23 Jan 2006 11:02:49 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (peter@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id k0NB2mrK086450 for ; Mon, 23 Jan 2006 11:02:48 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: (from peter@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id k0NB2k05086445 for freebsd-usb@freebsd.org; Mon, 23 Jan 2006 11:02:46 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Date: Mon, 23 Jan 2006 11:02:46 GMT Message-Id: <200601231102.k0NB2k05086445@freefall.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: freefall.freebsd.org: peter set sender to owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org using -f From: FreeBSD bugmaster To: freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Current problem reports assigned to you X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 23 Jan 2006 11:03:07 -0000 Current FreeBSD problem reports Critical problems S Submitted Tracker Resp. So far it is working well with devices that have interrupt endpoints like hid keypads/keyboards and a gps device. I'm seeing no problems with control endpoint trasfers either. The problem I'm encountering happens when attempting bulk IN transfers on two different mass storage devices. The device is sent the first mass storage command which succeeds and is then followed by a bulk IN request. Sometimes the first bulk IN request will return data, but then the second bulk IN request fails with EINTR. I've tried this with FreeBSD 6.0 release and recently with 7.0 current. I think the error returned is coming from the below code: http://fxr.watson.org/fxr/source//dev/usb/usbdi_util.c#L459 The patch for qemu I'm using is located here: (patch-bsdusb.patch) http://gnome.dnsalias.net/patches/ Both the qemu message output (transfer data log) and kernel messages with hw.usb.debug and hw.usb.ugen.debug enabled are here: http://gnome.dnsalias.net/kernlog-659 http://gnome.dnsalias.net/qemulog-659 Can someone more familiar with the kernel please take a look? Or can someone explain what receiving USBD_INTERRUPTED from this function would imply? Thanks. In the particular case, the printer was sending 74 bytes whilst the driver wanted to read the 6 byte header followed by a second 68 byte block. My solution was to change ulpt(4) to internally buffer reads. A persistent 1024 byte read buffer is already available. The attached patch will always issue 1024 byte reads across the USB bus and any surplus data will be saved for the next read(2) issued by the application. Note that whilst this allows communication between the printer and the PIPS driver, there remain problems with the port that prevent printing from working correctly. I will address these in a separate PR since they are related to the port, rather than the USB subsystem. -- Peter Jeremy --wRRV7LY7NUeQGEoC Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="ulpt.patch" Index: ulpt.c =================================================================== RCS file: /usr/ncvs/src/sys/dev/usb/ulpt.c,v retrieving revision 1.68 diff -u -r1.68 ulpt.c --- ulpt.c 12 Nov 2005 17:39:31 -0000 1.68 +++ ulpt.c 24 Jan 2006 22:14:17 -0000 @@ -113,7 +113,9 @@ int sc_in; usbd_pipe_handle sc_in_pipe; /* bulk in pipe */ usbd_xfer_handle sc_in_xfer; - void *sc_in_buf; + char *sc_in_buf; /* start of bulk read buffer */ + char *sc_in_bp; /* start of valid data in sc_in_buf */ + int sc_in_len; /* length of valid data at sc_in_bp */ usb_callout_t sc_read_callout; int sc_has_callout; @@ -584,6 +586,8 @@ usb_callout(sc->sc_read_callout, hz/5, ulpt_tick, sc); sc->sc_has_callout = 1; } + sc->sc_in_bp = NULL; + sc->sc_in_len = 0; } sc->sc_state = ULPT_OPEN; @@ -726,33 +730,51 @@ { u_int32_t n, on; int error = 0; - void *bufp; + char *bufp; usbd_xfer_handle xfer; usbd_status err; - DPRINTF(("ulptread\n")); + DPRINTF(("ulptread request %d\n", uio->uio_resid)); if (sc->sc_in_pipe == NULL) return 0; + if (sc->sc_in_len != 0) { + n = min(sc->sc_in_len, uio->uio_resid); + error = uiomove(sc->sc_in_bp, n, uio); + if (error) + return (error); + sc->sc_in_len -= n; + sc->sc_in_bp += n; + if (uio->uio_resid == 0) /* read satisfied */ + return (error); + } xfer = sc->sc_in_xfer; bufp = sc->sc_in_buf; - while ((n = min(ULPT_BSIZE, uio->uio_resid)) != 0) { - DPRINTFN(1, ("ulptread: transfer %d bytes\n", n)); - on = n; + + while (1) { + n = ULPT_BSIZE; err = usbd_bulk_transfer(xfer, sc->sc_in_pipe, USBD_NO_COPY | USBD_SHORT_XFER_OK, USBD_NO_TIMEOUT, bufp, &n, "ulptrd"); if (err) { DPRINTF(("ulptread: error=%d\n", err)); - error = EIO; - break; + return (EIO); } - error = uiomove(bufp, n, uio); - if (error) + DPRINTFN(1, ("ulptread: got %d bytes\n", n)); + on = min(n, uio->uio_resid); + error = uiomove(bufp, on, uio); + if (error) { + sc->sc_in_bp = bufp; + sc->sc_in_len = n; break; - if (on != n) + } + if (uio->uio_resid == 0 || n != ULPT_BSIZE) { + /* read satisfied or short read from printer */ + sc->sc_in_bp = bufp + on; + sc->sc_in_len = n - on; break; + } } return (error); --wRRV7LY7NUeQGEoC-- From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Jan 25 12:20:16 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-usb@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B77AE16A41F for ; Wed, 25 Jan 2006 12:20:16 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3EBD443D48 for ; Wed, 25 Jan 2006 12:20:16 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id k0PCKFgT098315 for ; Wed, 25 Jan 2006 12:20:15 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id k0PCKFKr098314; Wed, 25 Jan 2006 12:20:15 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Date: Wed, 25 Jan 2006 12:20:15 GMT Message-Id: <200601251220.k0PCKFKr098314@freefall.freebsd.org> To: freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.org From: Peter Jeremy Cc: Subject: Re: usb/91538: Unable to print to EPSON CX3500 X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: Peter Jeremy List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 25 Jan 2006 12:20:16 -0000 The following reply was made to PR usb/91538; it has been noted by GNATS. There's a number of diffrent bacnks of resources for these cards, and due to the resource allocation issues, they are getting cross threaded. Hi, I've just merged this to RELENG_6. The USB code in RELENG_5 is missing a number of bug fixes at this stage, but I don't have a RELENG_5 box handy to test on. If you'd like to send a patch you've tested then I'll be able to check that it matches up and commit it. In fact, if there are any other USB MFC's to RELENG_5 that people would like to see committed, then just send me patches extracted from RELENG_6 or HEAD that you've tested on RELENG_5 and I can merge them too. Sometimes (I'd say about 50% of the time) when I boot my laptop with FreeBSD 6.0 on it, umass0 outputs messages such as: umass0: BBB reset failed, TIMEOUT I have a verbose (boot -v) dmesg (unfortunately with the top part truncated because of the limited console buffer, I assume) attached of a boot when the problem occurs. Now I don't really care too much about the flashcard-reader itself, so if it doesn't work; that's fine (I haven't actually had a chance to test if it works). The real problem however is that between the dozens of error messages there seems to be a delay of a few minutes. Booting my laptop when the issue occurs takes about 2 - 3 hours (!). I don't want to completely disable umass either however, because I'd like to be able to plug in a USB storage device every now and then. On the other hand there is no way to disable this device through the BIOS, and I have not been able to unplug it physically (tried opening the laptop but after unscrewing 20+ screws I backed out of it because I was afraid I'd forget how to put the whole thing back together). I have looked into USB quirks, but I'm afraid I lack the technical expertise to apply these. I have tried booting without ACPI, turning off hyperthreading and all kinds of other BIOS settings, to no avail. Aside from the verbose dmesg log of when umass choked, I have also attached a dmesg log of a succesful boot for comparison, along with pciconf -lv and usbdevs output. (Ignore the re0: errors in the dmesg logs, I believe that's a seperate issue.) All mirrored at http://www.nieser.net/files/umass-problem/ incase they don't come through. Can anyone help or suggest which USB quirks I could try? (And how to apply them? since the device doesn't seem to have a specific model/vendor associated with it.) ------=_Part_29214_28597576.1138292941768 Content-Type: text/plain; name=pciconf.txt; I have used their MX700 mouse and LX700 cordless desktop (MX700 mouse + a keyboard) in the past with minimal problems. However, this mouse doesn't seem to work correctly. What I see is that the buttons don't work unless the pointer is in motion. This is evident both in the console and in X, also in X without moused running. Xev shows no button events unless they are accompanied by mouse motion. In the console, double clicking on text will not select it, middle clicking will not paste selected text and right clicking will not extend an existing selection - unless the pointer is in motion. I'm wondering if there are some settings changes I need to make or if maybe ums is not handling the data from the usb receiver correctly.=20 -Will -- Will Saxon Systems Programmer, Network Services University of Florida Department of Housing Phone: (352) 392-2171 x10148 Email: wills@housing.ufl.edu From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Jan 27 00:32:55 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 56EF916A420 for ; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 00:32:55 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from nox@saturn.kn-bremen.de) Received: from gwyn.kn-bremen.de (gwyn.kn-bremen.de [212.63.36.242]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9166B43D45 for ; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 00:32:53 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from nox@saturn.kn-bremen.de) Received: from gwyn.kn-bremen.de (gwyn [127.0.0.1]) by gwyn.kn-bremen.de (8.13.4/8.13.4/Debian-3) with ESMTP id k0R0Wqmf008154; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 01:32:52 +0100 Received: from saturn.kn-bremen.de (uucp@localhost) by gwyn.kn-bremen.de (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) with UUCP id k0R0WqwN008152; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 01:32:52 +0100 Received: from saturn.kn-bremen.de (nox@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by saturn.kn-bremen.de (8.13.3/8.13.1) with ESMTP id k0R0VJZ0017809; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 01:31:19 +0100 (CET) (envelope-from nox@saturn.kn-bremen.de) Received: (from nox@localhost) by saturn.kn-bremen.de (8.13.3/8.13.1/Submit) id k0R0VIkH017808; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 01:31:18 +0100 (CET) (envelope-from nox) From: Juergen Lock Date: Fri, 27 Jan 2006 01:31:18 +0100 To: Ian Dowse Message-ID: <20060127003118.GA17649@saturn.kn-bremen.de> References: <20060122014536.GA14131@saturn.kn-bremen.de> <200601260203.aa16326@nowhere.iedowse.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <200601260203.aa16326@nowhere.iedowse.com> User-Agent: Mutt/1.4.2.1i Cc: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Subject: Re: cvs commit: src/sys/dev/usb ehci.c ehci_pci.c ehcivar.h X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 27 Jan 2006 00:32:55 -0000 On Thu, Jan 26, 2006 at 02:03:28AM +0000, Ian Dowse wrote: > In message <20060122014536.GA14131@saturn.kn-bremen.de>, Juergen Lock writes: > >Can this commit, > >http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/cvs-src/2006-January/058150.html > >(sorry I dont have the msgid) be mfc'd to 6 and 5 before the freeze? > >I merged (cvs up -j...) it on 5.4 and it fixes ehci hangs for me. > > Hi, I've just merged this to RELENG_6. The patch is against uplcom.c 1.30. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: --- uplcom-latest.c Fri Jan 27 05:20:35 2006 +++ uplcom.c Fri Jan 27 05:13:53 2006 @@ -238,6 +238,8 @@ /* ST Lab USB-SERIAL-4 */ { USB_VENDOR_PROLIFIC, USB_PRODUCT_PROLIFIC_PL2303, 0x300, TYPE_PL2303X }, + { USB_VENDOR_PROLIFIC, USB_PRODUCT_PROLIFIC_PL2303, + 0x400, TYPE_PL2303X }, /* IOGEAR/ATEN UC-232A (also ST Lab USB-SERIAL-1) */ { USB_VENDOR_PROLIFIC, USB_PRODUCT_PROLIFIC_PL2303, -1, TYPE_PL2303 }, /* TDK USB-PHS Adapter UHA6400 */ >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Jan 27 05:30:14 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-usb@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6AE1516A420 for ; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 05:30:14 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 29BCB43D48 for ; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 05:30:14 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id k0R5U8W9084720 for ; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 05:30:08 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id k0R5U8RZ084718; Fri, 27 Jan 2006 05:30:08 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Date: Fri, 27 Jan 2006 05:30:08 GMT Message-Id: <200601270530.k0R5U8RZ084718@freefall.freebsd.org> To: freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.org From: "M. I think I found somewhere that chip version can ve recognized from some other internal parameter (buffer size o something) - but this solution seems to be sufficient. Is there any chance to have that MFCed to 6-stable?
