These represent problem reports covering all versions including experimental development code and obsolete releases. Bugs can be in one of several states: o - open A problem report has been submitted, no sanity checking performed. a - analyzed The problem is understood and a solution is being sought. f - feedback Further work requires additional information from the originator or the community - possibly confirmation of the effectiveness of a proposed solution. p - patched A patch has been committed, but some issues (MFC and / or confirmation from originator) are still open. r - repocopy The resolution of the problem report is dependent on a repocopy operation within the CVS repository which is awaiting completion. s - suspended The problem is not being worked on, due to lack of information or resources. This is a prime candidate for somebody who is looking for a project to do. If the problem cannot be solved at all, it will be closed, rather than suspended. c - closed A problem report is closed when any changes have been integrated, documented, and tested -- or when fixing the problem is abandoned. Possibly unrelated: In the few minutes I spent investigating (and not getting far), I noticed that there are some broken links with underscores in the roff man page as well: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=roff for example, groff_out(5) is mentioned by that page, but the link is only active on the text ``out(5)'', and tries to link to man.cgi?query=out , which does not yield any result. I don't have much time to look into this at the moment, but should I file a PR anyways? -Ben Kaduk From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Jul 10 21:07:08 2007 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 426D416A421 for ; Tue, 10 Jul 2007 21:07:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jkois@freebsd.org) Received: from tux15.hoststar.at (tux15.hoststar.at [213.239.217.242]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D097713C448 for ; Tue, 10 Jul 2007 21:07:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jkois@freebsd.org) Received: from Rbaaa.r.pppool.de (Rbaaa.r.pppool.de [89.54.186.170]) (authenticated bits=0) by tux15.hoststar.at (8.13.6/8.12.11) with ESMTP id l6AKUAws001332; Tue, 10 Jul 2007 22:30:10 +0200 From: Johann Kois To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Date: Tue, 10 Jul 2007 22:30:00 +0200 User-Agent: KMail/1.9.5 References: <47d0403c0707101310h58a278e7xad58c3499eb65569@mail.gmail.com> In-Reply-To: <47d0403c0707101310h58a278e7xad58c3499eb65569@mail.gmail.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; boundary="nextPart148036797.ab0XDteSFF"; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; micalg=pgp-sha1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <200707102230.08432.jkois@freebsd.org> Cc: Subject: Re: (html man pages) .Cd and underscore play badly X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 10 Jul 2007 21:07:08 -0000 --nextPart148036797.ab0XDteSFF Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline On Tuesday 10 July 2007 22:10, Ben Kaduk wrote: > Hi -doc, > > Through a long chain of events, I came to be looking at the snd_ess > man page online: > http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=3Dsnd_ess&sektion=3D4&apropos=3D= 0&manpat >h=3DFreeBSD+6.2-RELEASE > > note that > device snd_ess > and > device snd_sbc > are only highlighted for the ``snd_'' portion; the part after the > underscore is not marked-up as the configuration declaration. > > Possibly unrelated: > In the few minutes I spent investigating (and not getting far), I > noticed that there are some broken links with underscores in the roff > man page as well: > http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=3Droff > for example, groff_out(5) is mentioned by that page, but the link is > only active on the text ``out(5)'', and tries to link to > man.cgi?query=3Dout , which does not yield any result. Hm. Problem confirmed. man.cgi?query=3Dgroff_out would work but the link points only to the "out" part. =20 > I don't have much time to look into this at the moment, but should I > file a PR anyways? > > -Ben Kaduk Sure. Yes, that is unfortunatly a known problem due to one of the two parts of ftp.freebsd.org running out of disk space. You can try freebsd.isc.org or one of the other mirror sites listed in the FreeBSD Handbook instead. -- Simon L. A localized Porter's handbook will let people overcome the obstacle of creating their first port more easily than with the English version. When this first step is made, and one has understood the dos and don'ts of porting, there are some more things to learn including working on or writing English PRs but I doubt that anybody who wants to maintain a port does not speak any English at all. And if it turns out to be a problem, there is still a big and very helpful German community to assist any potential maintainer.
