I run the mirror for Switzerland/2 [1]. The main FreeBSD website [2] seems to be up to date, but I checked also serveral other mirrors ([3], [4], [5] and [6]) which all show the same old content on the main page. It is best visible in the "Latest News" column. Main site has an entry from 2007-10-27, but on all the mirrors I check, the last one is from 2007-10-10. I had run out of space to store stuff in one of the places I archive that stuff and needed to wait a bit longer before I was able to remove them. I'm done with removing the older stuff now. We're certainly encouraging dual IPv4/IPv6 connectivity and several (including the primary ftp.freebsd.org) sites are set up that way. But IPv6 only would mean the mirror is unusable by the huge majority of the user base so I'm not sure how I feel about it being one of the ftpX.freebsd.org or ftpX.us.freebsd.org hosts. That thought hadn't crossed my mind yet. One thought that did cross my mind already though... cvsup is currently IPv4 only. --=20 Ken Smith - From there to here, from here to | kensmith@cse.buffalo.edu there, funny things are everywhere. | - Theodore Geisel | --=-b7xyGx01hr6WnFQZ0p8o Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQBHKfRf/G14VSmup/YRAierAJ943eIUYwhah451ICxnf8VnCa28CgCfask3 h3KEGHvRQgxCUizPRDQdrbU= =lSz6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-b7xyGx01hr6WnFQZ0p8o-- From owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Nov 1 18:24:23 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C048016A46C for ; Thu, 1 Nov 2007 18:24:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from cejkar@fit.vutbr.cz) Received: from kazi.fit.vutbr.cz (kazi.fit.vutbr.cz [147.229.8.12]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3B6FA13C480 for ; Thu, 1 Nov 2007 18:24:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from cejkar@fit.vutbr.cz) Received: from kazi.fit.vutbr.cz (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by kazi.fit.vutbr.cz (envelope-from cejkar@fit.vutbr.cz) (8.14.1/8.14.1) with ESMTP id lA1IND8g021561 (version=TLSv1/SSLv3 cipher=DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA bits=256 verify=NO); Thu, 1 Nov 2007 19:23:13 +0100 (CET) Received: (from cejkar@localhost) by kazi.fit.vutbr.cz (8.14.1/8.13.1/Submit) id lA1INDgd021560; Thu, 1 Nov 2007 19:23:13 +0100 (CET) (envelope-from cejkar@fit.vutbr.cz) X-Authentication-Warning: kazi.fit.vutbr.cz: cejkar set sender to cejkar@fit.vutbr.cz using -f Date: Thu, 1 Nov 2007 19:23:13 +0100 From: Rudolf Cejka To: Ken Smith Message-ID: <20071101182313.GA20696@fit.vutbr.cz> References: <20071031085201.GA87025@fit.vutbr.cz> <1193931871.33994.12.camel@opus.cse.buffalo.edu> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <1193931871.33994.12.camel@opus.cse.buffalo.edu> User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.16 (2007-06-09) X-Scanned-By: MIMEDefang 2.62 on 147.229.8.12 Cc: John Webster , freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Access to ftp mirror X-BeenThere: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: "FreeBSD Distributions Hubs: mail sup ftp" List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 01 Nov 2007 18:24:23 -0000 Ken Smith wrote (2007/11/01): > One thought that did cross my mind already though... cvsup is currently > IPv4 only. Hello, you can use something like following command, to have cvsup accessible on both IPv4 and IPv6: socat -ly tcp6-listen:5999,fork,reuseaddr tcp4:localhost:5999 However the problem remains in that it could not do a connection policy based on source addresses (atleast not directly by cvsup).
