Nope, and I really have no idea why HP would remove such a useful feature. The only remote console access in ILO2 is via the Java applet. cheers, le -- Lukas Ertl http://homepage.univie.ac.at/l.ertl/ le@FreeBSD.org http://people.freebsd.org/~le/ From owner-freebsd-proliant@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Aug 15 16:23:57 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-proliant@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4D3E116A417 for ; Wed, 15 Aug 2007 16:23:57 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jcagle@gmail.com) Received: from py-out-1112.google.com (py-out-1112.google.com [64.233.166.178]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EA51713C46A for ; Wed, 15 Aug 2007 16:23:56 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jcagle@gmail.com) Received: by py-out-1112.google.com with SMTP id u77so275492pyb for ; Wed, 15 Aug 2007 09:23:56 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=beta; h=domainkey-signature:received:received:message-id:date:from:to:subject:cc:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition:references; b=TzeRYeMNu4jHgfXt2xuvk9Rhe0EyEgnzOGz297Ixwgwx66I4D6JrIhdYjg2yGew2ASXCC1DhE0rgHlCjI/ZqyKTnjRgNiaSIvcqT1o70snO2+o+a4dOHcVxjJ0s0B816AtuJQD891KIkQ6lct9ZT8SHvgKmzBuBhEdISkE4oKHs= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=beta; h=received:message-id:date:from:to:subject:cc:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition:references; b=l6Mf0ta49wOcpbe8tVTJRP+eafl5urtQsLo/w1aXrFEVv9gn6a6yZoP3J4lVSc9Gyx6ClqUP5XZtsNS1Z05yluC52VyQp59+slPHot7n7SW2Bskfq9WC5NddyHQqLN4cHWfZc9/afPAU6hv4DArzjz0oaguFqONyEP1AYp+/8OU= Received: by 10.65.230.9 with SMTP id h9mr1198711qbr.1187193504948; Wed, 15 Aug 2007 08:58:24 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.65.54.18 with HTTP; Wed, 15 Aug 2007 08:58:24 -0700 (PDT) Message-ID: <6863f0c90708150858sf58ae82h65c28e80355d2f99@mail.gmail.com> Date: Wed, 15 Aug 2007 10:58:24 -0500 From: "John Cagle" To: "Lukas Ertl" In-Reply-To: <46C2C02B.5080509@freebsd.org> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline References: <20070814173149.B68761@shanty.ipnstock.com> <46C2C02B.5080509@freebsd.org> Cc: freebsd-proliant@freebsd.org Subject: Re: no remcons in ilo2? The only remote *video* console access in iLO2 is through the iLO web interface, which has java *and* activeX applets. Due to the new video graphics interface, a "screen-scraping" text mode is no longer possible. However, iLO2 has a very good Virtual Serial Port implementation, which on the dl360 will be COM2 by default. This can be changed in the ROM setup screen (RBSU) from COM2 to COM1. SSH to iLO2, then run the "vsp" command to get access. - John On 8/15/07, Lukas Ertl wrote: > brad miele wrote: > > > > sorry, not exactly a fbsd question, but just ssh'd to a new dl360 via > > ilo2 and remcons doesn't seem to be an option. does it still exist? > > Nope, and I really have no idea why HP would remove such a useful feature. > > The only remote console access in ILO2 is via the Java applet. > > cheers, > le > > -- > Lukas Ertl http://homepage.univie.ac.at/l.ertl/ > le@FreeBSD.org http://people.freebsd.org/~le/ > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-proliant@freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-proliant > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-proliant-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" >
