The problem exists in both systems if the program links with pthread;
no problem exists if the program links with kse.

This doesn't seem to be the case with new threads on freebsd. Is there a way to make this happen from libthr/libpthread calls or any other means? Does freebsd native gdb expect new threads (from pthread_create()) to STOP so that it can resume them immediately? Thanks, Amol
