The problem is that i can't boot from cd within VB. It worked for me on past versions. I'm creating a new VM, select my dvd-ram as cd-source and getting this error when trying to start VM: Cannot open host device '/dev/cd0' for readonly access. Check the permissions of that device (VERR_ACCESS_DENIED). Unknown error creating VM (VERR_ACCESS_DENIED). I've also tried to check "Direct access" checkbox in VB cd settings, tried to change IDE controller onto ICH6 and PIIX3- all the same. But i'm able to access the disk, from what i tried to boot, within FreeBSD successfully. I'm on recent 8-stable i386. I'm successfully write cd/dvd with k3b-kde4 as usual user, as root too, so it seems that it's a some regression in VB. Please help. PS. Please keep me in cc: - i'm not on list. -- Regards, Ruslan From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Oct 17 17:57:12 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B73231065670 for ; Sun, 17 Oct 2010 17:57:12 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from hselasky@c2i.net) Received: from swip.net (mailfe04.swip.net [212.247.154.97]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3B9988FC08 for ; Sun, 17 Oct 2010 17:57:11 +0000 (UTC) X-Cloudmark-Score: 0.000000 [] X-Cloudmark-Analysis: v=1.1 cv=gl0LPzB4YDQuuzpDoHYit7deEV0cOo++Sg28kyvF6vg= c=1 sm=1 a=P4Ckh2d6ZMEA:10 a=N659UExz7-8A:10 a=CL8lFSKtTFcA:10 a=i9M/sDlu2rpZ9XS819oYzg==:17 a=8kQB0OdkAAAA:8 a=vtkzoV46cqmySDWx2ZUA:9 a=GDGN_VBwe-rjXIxpc3fxRfl5CSkA:4 a=pILNOxqGKmIA:10 a=9aOQ2cSd83gA:10 a=pn506jkUYPczYuoS:21 a=TkqEEsdrorsb4TU8:21 a=i9M/sDlu2rpZ9XS819oYzg==:117 Received: from [188.126.198.129] (account mc467741@c2i.net HELO laptop002.hselasky.homeunix.org) by mailfe04.swip.net (CommuniGate Pro SMTP 5.2.19) with ESMTPA id 36299227; Sun, 17 Oct 2010 19:47:08 +0200 From: Hans Petter Selasky To: "Wilkinson, Alex" Date: Sun, 17 Oct 2010 19:48:25 +0200 User-Agent: KMail/1.13.5 (FreeBSD/8.1-STABLE; KDE/4.4.5; amd64; ; ) References: <201010140851.51159.hselasky@freebsd.org> <4CB7525C.3030702@freebsdfoundation.org> In-Reply-To: <4CB7525C.3030702@freebsdfoundation.org> X-Face: +~\`s("[*|O,="7?X@L.elg*F"OA\I/3%^p8g?ab%RN'( =?windows-1252?q?=3B=5FIjlA=3A=0A=09hGE=2E=2EEw?=, =?windows-1252?q?XAQ*o=23=5C/M=7ESC=3DS1-f9=7BEzRfT=27=7CHhll5Q=5Dha5Bt-s=7Co?= =?windows-1252?q?TlKMusi=3A1e=5BwJl=7Dkd=7DGR=0A=09Z0adGx-x=5F0zGbZj=27e?=(Y[(UNle~)8CQWXW@:DX+9)_YlB[tIccCPN$7/L' MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset="windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <201010171948.25610.hselasky@c2i.net> Cc: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org, freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Hope for USB support? I don't see any way to 'print' the history (this would be already enough, to grab it out of the PostScript file). I have had a look into the files and it seems that all history is there below ~/.Skype/{account}/chatsync/ organized in one directory level more and as files *.dat. One can even see with 'strings' the UTF-8 data... So maybe, some tool could decifer the data from there... To get an ordinary USB device working, the software still needs some work? My offer is still valid. You can get the details at the thread on acpi: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-acpi/2010-October/006795.html Best solution for now is to remove the hyphen but I think a proper solution would be to fix the regression in acpica. -- Bernhard Froehlich http://www.bluelife.at/
