Who is "in charge" for the DRM sources? Robert seems to be busy at the moment ... I could commit it myself, but I don't really have anything to do with the DRM part of the kernel, so I figure I better ask first. :-) Best regards Oliver -- Oliver Fromme, secnetix GmbH & Co. ( Admittedly my test TV with S-VHS also has SVGA too, but my larger target TV does not, so I want to use laptop S-VHS socket (+audio socket) to a Scart cable to bigger TV. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video says S-VHS is not veryt good, so I will later get a TV with SVGA &/or DVI or HDMI & drive a newer TV from laptop SVGA or maybe a tower with DVI, but meantime I'm setting up a low res. initial proof of concept, so S-VHS needs to be enabled for now. ) Laptop diversion to S-VHS via Fn F5 gets stopped by X ( key just beeps) So I want to find what to add to xorg.conf to enable TV output ? The Control + Alt + Numeric_Plus (or Numeric Minus) ( ; P ) just beeps. I'd like to get that working too, to dynamicaly toggle laptop down to low res when I want it to drive TV. Currently I force the laptop down to 640x480 via editing xorg.conf (resolution as shown by xdpyinfo), to give S-VHS a chance. xvidtune either says unable to query monitor info, or fails to adjust anything. man 3 Xinerama, Gary J mentioned for multi screen, I see it in Xorg.0.log but dont know what to use it with & anyway that'd be running before I can walk, though sure, later 2 screen's would sure be nice. Any RTFM URLs / config syntax would be welcome. Thanks I append xorg.conf & Xorg.0.log -------------- Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "X.org Configured" Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0 InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer" InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard" EndSection Section "Files" ModulePath "/usr/local/lib/xorg/modules" FontPath "/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/misc/" FontPath "/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/" FontPath "/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/OTF" FontPath "/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/" FontPath "/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/" FontPath "/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/" EndSection Section "Module" Load "dbe" Load "dri" Load "dri2" Load "extmod" Load "glx" Load "record" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard0" Driver "kbd" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Mouse0" Driver "mouse" Option "Protocol" "auto" Option "Device" "/dev/sysmouse" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7" EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "Monitor0" VendorName "Monitor Vendor" ModelName "Monitor Model" EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Card0" Driver "radeon" VendorName "ATI Technologies Inc" BoardName "RV350 [Mobility Radeon 9600 M10]" BusID "PCI:1:0:0" EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Card0" Monitor "Monitor0" SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 8 Modes "1600x1200" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 15 Modes "1600x1200" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 16 Modes "1600x1200" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 24 # Modes "1600x1200" "1400x1050" "1280x1024" "1280x960" "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" # Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" # Modes "800x600" "1024x768" "640x480" # Modes "1024x768" # Modes "800x600" Modes "640x480" EndSubSection EndSection ---------------- X.Org X Server 1.7.5 Release Date: 2010-02-16 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Operating System: FreeBSD 8.1-RC2 amd64 Current Operating System: FreeBSD lapo.js.berklix.net 8.1-RC2 FreeBSD 8.1-RC2 #0: Wed Jul 14 10:50:43 CEST 2010 jhs@test.js.berklix.net:/usr/src/sys/amd64/compile/GENERIC amd64 Build Date: 15 July 2010 08:56:08AM Current version of pixman: 0.16.6 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version.
