I'm having some problems with ethernet ports on a new Marvell 88F6281-based board [more about that later after I've done some more digging] but first I'd like to do the equivalent of a "boot -v" to turn on verbose kernel messages. I can boot FreeBSD 9.0 [from sources grabbed and built yesterday] by doing ide reset fatload ide 0:1 900000 kernel.bin go 900000 but only get the normal kernel output that way. Any help appreciated! The problem I'm having with this patch (against the CVS repository head of ~7/28) is that when it boots with the SD card installed, it hangs after device probing (after the USB ports if my USD flash drive is NOT installed, after probing da0 if it is). If I boot without the SD card, the kernel panics on installation - I get a message of "mv_gpio_intr_handler(): No handler for Pin 34", the mmc "mmc0: on sdio0", a series of "sdio0: Error -bad command 55 checksum!", an "sdio0: Error - command 2 timeout!", and finally a vm_fault with address and frame information that probably isn't useful without a copy of the kernel. I also did find another patch, but it resulted in an interrupt storm when the SD card was installed. Thanks. If you can't figure out how to set kernel environment from the boot loader, you can instead hard-code 'bootverbose' in sys/init_main.c and build a new kernel.
