Checked with a mechanical driva and then it boots fine. Will try to upgrade firmware on SSD drive to check if it remedies. I wanted to report additionally that the image I used was the bootonly image. Netinst is Debian speak, and one of those was next in the file list, and I erroneously looked at that. Additionally, if I unselect all options, to do the 9.1 equiv of a minimal install, I get to 98% of base and it just stops.
