I found this out too that in the port emulators/wine: # fgrep GNUTLS Makefile GNUTLS "Use GnuTLS" Off \ ... i.e. GNUTLS is set to off; I recompiled the port and now it is working as it should; the Win32 app starts and registers with Adobe.com; thanks matthias -- Matthias Apitz | /"\ ASCII Ribbon Campaign: www.asciiribbon.org E-mail: guru@unixarea.de | \ / - No HTML/RTF in E-mail WWW: http://www.unixarea.de/ | X - No proprietary attachments phone: +49-170-4527211 | / \ - Respect for open standards From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Sep 15 19:20:35 2012 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 686D11065670 for ; Sat, 15 Sep 2012 19:20:35 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from naylor.b.david@gmail.com) Received: from mail-wi0-f172.google.com (mail-wi0-f172.google.com [209.85.212.172]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DF4468FC0C for ; Sat, 15 Sep 2012 19:20:34 +0000 (UTC) Received: by wibhi8 with SMTP id hi8so795703wib.13 for ; Sat, 15 Sep 2012 12:20:33 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20120113; h=from:to:subject:date:user-agent:cc:references:in-reply-to :mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:message-id; bh=FUmk/RJAbGPJbBrw0vSHYHWR/sLtZOMOppIfhmz3Gho=; b=rwJN/hMsoS+t3JzYsDBFlTA4hrR9gGhGgx1Mt9Au+8B4myoTR5VEvoypcNHFOsqryn 5I1cBT8SNESG3Z1tzpJcltk7pGMLad1766QyysXk9UCEsGtvd9HrybZgDhe1Dz+EANjx ACogs1VnBlnbSsWPfPP/g8Bx3m9+Z1fZMeaJoKTPTlsTI5vfMhmVRy6jZNkqhsYNM1zP FLF73HZBgQkEcwWC+QKUYSFNfSdDfxSu0/3I8k8UATJq5lPjPzqLPFAM+Nz8YKfaliJc dLzU0b8PB0sp4gyzHHQgMf49BeoRbsMDa4IpWUH+1OqvYHfrMTAamNLUAOneH56/HnP5 4pFQ== Received: by 10.216.30.136 with SMTP id k8mr3737875wea.103.1347736833549; Sat, 15 Sep 2012 12:20:33 -0700 (PDT) Received: from dragon.dg (41-135-0-219.dsl.mweb.co.za. Thanks for your hint. The GNUTLS option defaults to 'off', do you know why? I'd say this is rather a bug. Any way. After a lot of more testing I managed finaly how to download an eBook I purchased. Just for the records, if someone runs into the same problem: After the process of payment you get a link to download a file 'URLLink.acsm'; for some reason ADE in wine is unwilling to open this file to fetch the eBook as epub file; I managed it finally with a call like this: $ wine 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Digital Editions\digitaleditions.exe' 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Digital Editions\URLLink.acsm' after copying the file 'URLLink.acsm' to the right place into the ~/.wine drive; Thanks matthias -- Matthias Apitz | /"\ ASCII Ribbon Campaign: www.asciiribbon.org E-mail: guru@unixarea.de | \ / - No HTML/RTF in E-mail WWW: http://www.unixarea.de/ | X - No proprietary attachments phone: +49-170-4527211 | / \ - Respect for open standards
