I've been trying all day with informations from there: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=26674&iTestingId=73988 But nothing seems to do I get passed the launcher (bypassing it because dotNet stuff don't work well in Wine) I get company video logos but just before what I believe should be the intro cinematic, I get a black screen and nothing happens after that) So if anyone tried and had any luck it would be great to share your experience :D P.S. I was using wine 1.5.12 on FreeBSD-9 STABLE amd64 with latest nvidia drivers from pkgng repo From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Sep 24 11:07:12 2012 Return-Path: Delivered-To: emulation@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B02DA106566B for ; Mon, 24 Sep 2012 11:07:12 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5EE1F8FC19 for ; Mon, 24 Sep 2012 11:07:12 +0000 (UTC) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.5/8.14.5) with ESMTP id q8OB7Crx085814 for ; Mon, 24 Sep 2012 11:07:12 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@FreeBSD.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.5/8.14.5/Submit) id q8OB7BPf085812 for emulation@FreeBSD.org; Mon, 24 Sep 2012 11:07:11 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@FreeBSD.org) Date: Mon, 24 Sep 2012 11:07:11 GMT Message-Id: <201209241107.q8OB7BPf085812@freefall.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: freefall.freebsd.org: gnats set sender to owner-bugmaster@FreeBSD.org using -f From: FreeBSD bugmaster To: emulation@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Current problem reports assigned to emulation@FreeBSD.org X-BeenThere: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Development of Emulators of other operating systems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 24 Sep 2012 11:07:12 -0000 Note: to view an individual PR, use: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=(number). I am trying to install python 2.6 using msi installer: wine msiexec /i ~/python-2.6.msi and this installs it into the current folder, not into c:/Python2.6 as it should be. I ran the similar command (with various versions of python) many times. First they were getting installed into the proper folder (under c:/). But later msiexec stopped asking any questions and just drops all files into the current folder. Same problem with other .msi installers. This might not be BSD specific. I am reporting it because this is a failure of a basic command that many are likely to run. In addition texts in window displayed by msiexec have messed up characters (wrong fonts?). Not sure why, but I see this across many programs ran by wine, digitaleditions would be another example. Hi Yuri, I just tried with a clean wine prefix with python-2.7.3.msi and everything= =20 works as expected. Upstream is currently fixing lots of bugs so 4.2.2 will hopefully fix all that networking regressions and should be released soon. Since it is on our > todo list for ages I did asume that it's true. Thanks for correcting > me. >=20 Let me detail that a bit more. It has always worked with guests that have the guest additions installed (vbox services running). In my case, all windows (2003, 2008, XP,7 and 8) and linux (debian, centos and Fedora). OS/2 also worked. Macs don't have guest additions so I rely on regular file sharing for their vms. Ironically, I don't have a FreeBSD guest VM. Since I'm a daily witness of the stability and performance of FreeBSD as a VBox host, I am first and foremost interested on this aspect of it. Well, this is not entirely true since I also have a pf-sense vm. For clarity's sake, not all of these are production machines. Some of them are just for learning/testing, and others just for challenge/fun, like a win 3.1 vm I'll be trying to install soon. To be precise, I have 6 production VBox vms running. On a FreeBSD host server: Windows 2008 server Symantec WebGateway service Symantec messaging (Brightmail) On my FreeBSD laptop: XP, win7 and win 8. > > Forgive me for hijacking the thread but there were 3 patches > > specific for FBSD, published by Ed Maste on > > VBox-dev list that were committed by Alexander Eichner.
