Intel® C600 Series Chipset Intel® E5-2600 Processor Family Storage Controller : HP Smart Array P420i/1GB Network Controller : HP Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331FLR Adapter (full specs: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/14211_na/14211_na.pdf ) I am just wondering if it would also be compatible with the current version of FreeBSD. I guess it is the case at least for the cpu/chipset according to http://www.freebsd.org/releases/9.0R/hardware.html , but I miss for example the P420 or the network interface in the actual hardware list, so a confirmation before ordering would be really nice to have :) Thanks & kind regards, Olivier From owner-freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Jun 14 11:52:01 2012 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 75CBF106566C; Thu, 14 Jun 2012 11:52:01 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from vrwmiller@gmail.com) Received: from mail-gg0-f182.google.com (mail-gg0-f182.google.com [209.85.161.182]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1CE898FC16; Thu, 14 Jun 2012 11:52:01 +0000 (UTC) Received: by ggnm2 with SMTP id m2so1468771ggn.13 for ; Thu, 14 Jun 2012 04:52:00 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20120113; h=mime-version:sender:in-reply-to:references:date :x-google-sender-auth:message-id:subject:from:to:cc:content-type :content-transfer-encoding; bh=c0q6YvGP9E41Ib3UJyKVmeN4fVCNJCBMvhqHUqkWSfc=; b=pUiKNDJ2sExpmcyQq8feG31E7S4KGQjW4S0pQPOtxTkM4KTxkte+BFoCbnYQ6YSED1 ts1gUaA2zjE+9jc3k5SjHTHHXviAhow5UZ0SwJWgePrCj4QN8QvzqHLY7KkQSnB2USvS b3fh3nT1lI66bbucIR263UuCs3ciIbD9QyaSjJGlS2jrqLxsIGPd7OfEH1nhr5e9EAAe 6ILu2dMNcdTQjqLz2sq8bir1EhITdxkmZ2A46MWvBrTnhb4Omezq3iNZu4iZZ4/XX2NX UOHywzzF5oTrKgTW5lxKqbRLAAQhcnex7LhpyvMsZpuIKSq7X79dqdnFoPdzp5ak5HG5 SiwQ== MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: by 10.60.32.113 with SMTP id h17mr1470223oei.40.1339674720390; Thu, 14 Jun 2012 04:52:00 -0700 (PDT) Sender: vrwmiller@gmail.com Received: by 10.182.128.38 with HTTP; Thu, 14 Jun 2012 04:52:00 -0700 (PDT) In-Reply-To: <1339670513.7205.27.camel@ompc.insign> References: <1339670513.7205.27.camel@ompc.insign> Date: Thu, 14 Jun 2012 07:52:00 -0400 X-Google-Sender-Auth: zEbd5l-Bj5GW5jFskA7p1y2lPxA Message-ID: From: Rick Miller To: Olivier Mueller Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Cc: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org, freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org Subject: Re: FreeBSD compatibility with HP ProLiant DL360p Generation 8 (Gen8) ? I can, however, say that we did not have problems with the RAID controller with stable/8. We did have problems with the on-board NIC, I don't remember what model it is, but it is based on the BCM5719 controller. We ordered a few PCIe Intel NICs and tried the 82571 which did work with stable/8. We've got on order a few of the HP NC361T, which is based on the Intel i350, which we tested in a Dell and it worked there. Again, all this is with stable/8, but generally if the driver works in 8, it will work in 9. --=20 Take care Rick Miller From owner-freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Jun 14 18:26:41 2012 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 482ED1065672 for ; Thu, 14 Jun 2012 18:26:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from dieterbsd@engineer.com) Received: from mailout-us.gmx.com (mailout-us.gmx.com [74.208.5.67]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 144E98FC14 for ; Thu, 14 Jun 2012 18:26:41 +0000 (UTC) Received: (qmail 14675 invoked by uid 0); 14 Jun 2012 18:19:43 -0000 Received: from 67.206.184.254 by rms-us013.v300.gmx.net with HTTP Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Date: Thu, 14 Jun 2012 14:19:38 -0400 From: "Dieter BSD" Message-ID: <20120614181940.22680@gmx.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org,freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org X-Authenticated: #74169980 X-Flags: 0001 X-Mailer: GMX.com Web Mailer x-registered: 0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-GMX-UID: a06ob7hp3zOlNR3dAHAhodl+IGRvb0CC Cc: Subject: Re: UEFI Secure Boot Specs - And some sanity X-BeenThere: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: General discussion of FreeBSD hardware List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 14 Jun 2012 18:26:41 -0000 grarpamp writes: > Plenty of millionaires > out there now who are in tune with opensource who could startup, > buy the same ARM/ATOM/etc chips, the same support chips, load > Android and sell it to the masses.
