I upgraded from 8.3 to 9.1. I had to upgrade, since it was impossible to install 9.0, regarding to issues with partitioning. The upgrade seems not to be perfect yet [1], but it does work. Is it possible to test all 8 ADAT IOs of the RME HDSPe AIO right now, without X? I guess totalmix isn't available, neither by CLI, nor by GUI? We need someone to maintain our wiki. This is a volunteer (unpaid) job, but would look great on your resume/cv, and is a way for someone with software skills to help create open hardware. The server resources are being donated. The wiki has been crashing the server, forcing the owner to close the wiki until we can get a new maintainer. Other talent is also welcome, such as device driver writers, simulator writers, hardware design, etc. OGP mailing list (usually low volume): http://lists.duskglow.com/mailman/listinfo From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Dec 28 07:31:35 2012 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0BA969F0 for ; Fri, 28 Dec 2012 07:31:35 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from ralf.mardorf@rocketmail.com) Received: from nm17.bullet.mail.ukl.yahoo.com (nm17.bullet.mail.ukl.yahoo.com [217.146.183.191]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 50E428FC0A for ; Fri, 28 Dec 2012 07:31:33 +0000 (UTC) Received: from [217.146.183.212] by nm17.bullet.mail.ukl.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 28 Dec 2012 07:31:26 -0000 Received: from [77.238.184.77] by tm5.bullet.mail.ukl.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 28 Dec 2012 07:31:26 -0000 Received: from [127.0.0.1] by smtp146.mail.ukl.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 28 Dec 2012 07:31:26 -0000 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=rocketmail.com; s=s1024; t=1356679886; bh=BdqYrI+6Iqs6FQ97l8VV0RpeZPEhEEEBGkM8z43+pTo=; h=X-Yahoo-Newman-Id:X-Yahoo-Newman-Property:X-YMail-OSG:X-Yahoo-SMTP:Received:Message-ID:Subject:From:To:Date:In-Reply-To:References:Content-Type:X-Mailer:Mime-Version:Content-Transfer-Encoding; b=b1ndVoHLkbBHHDzRqc75a20o6isDJ0okytwuKarb+m+K2EzR0NI0MW41/rFA13RzHXkr1KDYJnU+jSa7LlpsTSEFZRWNYtsVVYWLmiE4OGrium6JxLV19OMztU4Q4ynQiGUCi6P/Tv0fH5XJhkNpJ0nAAhlS44q6EAm2g2LMPgA= X-Yahoo-Newman-Id: 890628.88404.bm@smtp146.mail.ukl.yahoo.com X-Yahoo-Newman-Property: ymail-3 X-YMail-OSG: DtWC4_gVM1m9esQZwVRBx2GdTQNi1MJ4i4GtNndqDRid.Gh maifUwoODRbZVDP4sP38C4k1yAwehUOuEg8rO63RPENHE6O5cM19K1V7LoRS YNXCAdLe3Dg302.ctMdDVwwBBZfSxFUTS4d_0MTjVipWRro1S4qWO9b77H23 jh0tRIwzduVbuSFEOwn_1OoyQRKN4zReIfhRKvBA9qNOIewj0V9vt6BDfYGz RTHL.ESML4vbXcydgN3cdNc1foAEuVpq2GeZ.pNeNXu3i5Vbhv_sELimdOKY mopmJ_uVCr3TLbkioAsti2DuOWkYK09f7VYbmZdyfMs4EcrPhBkcdmQOuwW3 rEvxkIyuL57SOYW6VLJ3zufSnWtV.BMpbrCiloTBkpFI8YuB.qF8q9D3WX_Z d33ChvymkWpsr7znvHv4Zcqhd0krLCu8h.eku X-Yahoo-SMTP: BeMCPs2swBABTJ3kAeEiC_hE0mz8jRexLddJfD8pI2j32fOacjBmXg-- Received: from [92.231.6.20] (ralf.mardorf@92.231.6.20 with login) by smtp146.mail.ukl.yahoo.com with SMTP; 28 Dec 2012 07:31:26 +0000 GMT Message-ID: <1356679885.2535.10.camel@q> Subject: Re: Testing snd_hdspe - Was: [solved] snd_hdspe: No such file or directory From: Ralf Mardorf To: "freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org" Date: Fri, 28 Dec 2012 08:31:25 +0100 In-Reply-To: <20121227074216.GA69799@jail.io> References: <1355536009.52929.YahooMailNeo@web172405.mail.ir2.yahoo.com> <20121215101512.GC20342@jd.benders.se> <1356307767.2640.43.camel@q> <20121227074216.GA69799@jail.io> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" X-Mailer: Evolution 3.6.0-0ubuntu3 Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.14 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 28 Dec 2012 07:31:35 -0000 On Thu, 2012-12-27 at 11:42 +0400, Ruslan Bukin wrote: > Hi. > > Totalmix isn't available. > > please load the driver and set > # sysctl hw.snd.verbose=2 > > then show sndstat output > # cat /dev/sndstat Hi Ruslan, "script" at least didn't save the output of kldload, I didn't verify if the output of cat was saved correctly. Perhaps there are different revisions of the HDSPe AIO available. TotalMix for Linux detects the card as HDSPe AIO, but hardware info says MADI. However, on Linux analog IOs are ok and ADAT IOs 1 and 2 are ok too, I can't store alsamixer settings, but hdspmixer settings. I never tested S/PDIF and AES. ADAT IOs 3 to 8 aren't available by jackd ports. FWIW when I run FreeBSD I didn't load the Envy24 drivers and the USB devices were not connected. The on-board audio devices are disabled by the BIOS.
