But is it expected that xvideo isn't supported? >=20 I cannot really comment on your last question. Kernel driver does support sprite or overlay (depending on the GPU generation). Everything else depends on the usermode stack, which should convert overlay into XVideo interface, and on harware capabilities. E.g., I am almost sure that compositing migh affect xvideo. --YPOU9eFKIy6Wf5kE Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (FreeBSD) iEYEARECAAYFAlBoJkEACgkQC3+MBN1Mb4iglwCfdaoAXLM8ELth8JbpV40TujqR 1roAoJ0vATVt6QNzUbQkdSTbZEg1f1Vt =3Kt7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --YPOU9eFKIy6Wf5kE-- From owner-freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Sep 30 18:25:46 2012 Return-Path: Delivered-To: x11@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 470691065672; Sun, 30 Sep 2012 18:25:46 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from nox@jelal.kn-bremen.de) Received: from smtp.kn-bremen.de (gelbbaer.kn-bremen.de [78.46.108.116]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EBA858FC15; Sun, 30 Sep 2012 18:25:45 +0000 (UTC) Received: by smtp.kn-bremen.de (Postfix, from userid 10) id 2C04C1E00122; Sun, 30 Sep 2012 20:25:39 +0200 (CEST) Received: from triton8.kn-bremen.de (noident@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by triton8.kn-bremen.de (8.14.4/8.14.4) with ESMTP id q8UIMqR1023207; Sun, 30 Sep 2012 20:22:52 +0200 (CEST) (envelope-from nox@triton8.kn-bremen.de) Received: (from nox@localhost) by triton8.kn-bremen.de (8.14.4/8.14.3/Submit) id q8UIMqME023206; Sun, 30 Sep 2012 20:22:52 +0200 (CEST) (envelope-from nox) From: Juergen Lock Date: Sun, 30 Sep 2012 20:22:52 +0200 To: Konstantin Belousov Message-ID: <20120930182252.GB22993@triton8.kn-bremen.de> References: <201209252359.44863.dantavious313@gmail.com> <201209261839.35551.dantavious313@gmail.com> <20120927183716.GA6608@triton8.kn-bremen.de> <201209271806.40743.dantavious313@gmail.com> <20120928173216.GA44127@triton8.kn-bremen.de> <20120928175119.GX35915@deviant.kiev.zoral.com.ua> <20120928210206.GA49736@triton8.kn-bremen.de> <20120930110017.GZ35915@deviant.kiev.zoral.com.ua> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <20120930110017.GZ35915@deviant.kiev.zoral.com.ua> User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.21 (2010-09-15) Cc: x11@freebsd.org, Juergen Lock , multimedia@freebsd.org, Derrick Edwards Subject: Re: Intel kms xvideo/vaapi? I see similar reports on various lists but no conclusive answers. We checked Xorg.log but could not see any obvious error. I changed Intel to Vesa driver in xorg.conf but it did not help. It is very hard to see what the acatual error is, can you perhaps be more precise? Also, we need to know which version of xserver and the xorg meta port you are using, as well as the make and model of your graphics card, and which driver is in use.
