It requires users to copy a sample, and edit: Identity=unix-group:PUTYOURGROUPHERE I would like to propose that this file be installed by the port with the above line set to: Identity=unix-group:wheel My intent here is to automatically enable reboot/halt/suspend capability in a way that doesn't open new holes. Users in group wheel can already reboot/halt/suspend, so this will work as expected on systems with users in the wheel group. Users in other groups can still edit the file as they need. Any problems with this? -jr From owner-freebsd-xfce@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Jul 17 04:10:20 2012 Return-Path: Delivered-To: xfce@freebsd.org Received: from mx2.freebsd.org (mx2.freebsd.org [69.147.83.53]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C72C0106566C for ; Tue, 17 Jul 2012 04:10:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from dougb@FreeBSD.org) Received: from opti.dougb.net (hub.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::36]) by mx2.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2E6E81764DC; Tue, 17 Jul 2012 04:08:44 +0000 (UTC) Message-ID: <5004E54B.9040600@FreeBSD.org> Date: Mon, 16 Jul 2012 21:08:43 -0700 From: Doug Barton Organization: http://SupersetSolutions.com/ User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; FreeBSD amd64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20120621 Thunderbird/13.0.1 MIME-Version: 1.0 To: "J.R. Any thoughts on this matter? I have updated perl to 5.16 as recommended in /usr/ports/UPDATING first block I used (0) option here: 20120630: AFFECTS: users of lang/perl* AUTHOR: skv@FreeBSD.org lang/perl5.16 is out. If you want to switch to it from, for example lang/perl5.12, that is: Portupgrade users: 0) Fix pkgdb.db (for safety): pkgdb -Ff 1) Reinstall new version of Perl (5.16): env DISABLE_CONFLICTS=1 portupgrade -o lang/perl5.16 -f perl-5.12.\* 2) Reinstall everything that depends on Perl: portupgrade -fr perl Portmaster users: portmaster -o lang/perl5.16 lang/perl5.12 Conservative: portmaster p5- Comprehensive (but perhaps overkill): portmaster -r perl- Note: If the "perl-" glob matches more than one port you will need to specify the name of the Perl directory in /var/db/pkg explicitly. The default version for Perl has also been changed from 5.12 to 5.14.
