Each port has a different maintainer, and several ports are affected (changed) by your patches. Each of them will need maintainer approval, so we need to do one of the following: 1) Attach each port patch as an individual and separate attachment in this issue (with a super obvious name like "category/portname" or something similar. OR 2) Create a new issue report for each port The downside of (1) is that we need to obtain approval for each one to consider this issue resolved, and all of them will need to committed together (even they don't need to be). The downside of (2) is additional overhead for you and our bug tracking/triaging team. My personal preference is for (1), so can you: - Remove the tarball attached here - Attach each of the port patches as a separate attachment. (with .diff or .patch extension) Additionally, you probably also want to use the new OPTIONS HELPER syntax everywhere you can, instead of: .if (${PORT_OPTIONS:MFOO} blah .else blah .endif See: Mk/bsd.options.mk, just under the following comment: # The following knobs are there to simplify the handling of OPTIONS in simple # cases : -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. In many cases these ports are failing to compile on some subset of the FreeBSD build environments. The most common problem is that recent versions of -CURRENT include gcc4.2, which is much stricter than older versions. The next most common problem is that compiles succeed on the i386 architecture (e.g. the common Intel PC), but fail on one or more of the other architectures due to assumptions about things such as size of various types, byte-alignment issues, and so forth. In occasional cases we see that the same port may have different errors in different build environments. The script that runs on the build cluster uses heuristics to try to 'guess' the error type to help you isolate problems, but it is only a rough guide. One more note: on occasion, there are transient build errors seen on the build farm. Unfortunately, there is not yet any way for this algorithm to tell the difference (humans are much, much better at this kind of thing.) The errors are listed below. In the case where the same problem exists on more than one build environment, the URL points to the latest errorlog for that type. (By 'build environment' here we mean 'combination of 7.x/8.x/9.x/-current with target architecture'.) (Note: the dates are included to help you to gauge whether or not the error still applies to the latest version. The program that generates this report is not yet able to determine this automatically.) portname: textproc/aiksaurus-gtk broken because: does not link against GTK2 on FreeBSD 10+ build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=textproc&portname=aiksaurus-gtk portname: x11-fm/pbi-thumbnailer broken because: Violates stagedir and fails to package build errors: http://beefy2.isc.freebsd.org/bulk/83amd64-default/latest/logs/errors/pbi-thumbnailer-0.9.2_5.log ((not currently populated)) overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=x11-fm&portname=pbi-thumbnailer portname: x11/gnome-shell broken because: Doesn't build build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=x11&portname=gnome-shell If these errors are ones that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. Every effort has been made to make sure that these error reports really do correspond to a port that you maintain. However, due to the fact that this is an automated process, it may indeed generate false matches. After a fresh installation I installed the packages for xorg/gdm. After a reboot the X server crashes repeatedly. I had to boot to single user mode, and force removed the xf86-video-intel package. Using Vesa the x server worked. After a lot of reading, I narrowed the issue down to cairo as seen here. Using portdowngrade to install cairo-1.10 the x server works using xf86-video-intel (2.7) with no issues. Opinion: I would assume the intel brand gpus are heavily used. Breaking them on a production quality release seems like a major issue. The maintainer's log of cairo 1.12 states it was blocking "pango and gtk30". I would suggest perhaps requiring WITH_NEW_XORG to install the newer cairo? Though I don't know the trade offs, but a cryptic xorg crash was quite frustrating. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. You are the assignee for the bug. Both mate-power-manager and mate-power-preferences dump core. Issue is as reported here, https://github.com/jlmess77/mate-ports/issues/11, except this with 1.8.0. Local system is 10.1-PRELEASEASE #0 r270772 amd64, This leaves me with the battery monitor of gkrellm, which doesn't indicate charging. Another problem, although a bit more generic, is that I cannot get the gkrellm-bfm plugin to work. I hacked the source suitably to get it compiled, but when I try to enable it, it dies with kvm_open: /dev/mem: Permission denied Could not open kernel virtual memory My standard repertoire of trying to work around this is exhausted - making gkrellmd/gkrellm/grellm-bfm.so suid root/guid kmem, or combinations thereof, even adding world read permissions to /dev/mem. Any suggestions? Workaround: Replace "intel" by "vesa" /etc/X11/xorg.conf: ###Driver "intel" Driver "vesa" Not using WITH_NEW_XORG, as /etc/make.conf doesn't even exist. With the Vesa driver, graphics quality is less than optimized, but I prefer not to downgrading cairo and symlinking several others libs to fix what I hope is a short time issue. Opinion: Not what you expect from a new RELEASE. As mentioned by others, Intel chipsets are quite common out there, chances are quite big this bug could have been nailed down. I have been using FreeBSD since 3.0, and there have been few minor quirks in releases in the past, but this is a big one. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
