Jan Beich <jbeich@vfemail.net> has asked gnome@FreeBSD.org for maintainer-feedback: Bug 194460: x11-toolkits/gtk30: add ATK_BRIDGE option https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=194460 --- Description --- Created attachment 148452 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=148452&action=edit patch, marcuscom version (3.14.3) Allow users to have Gtk desktop without DBus. AT-SPI bridge isn't required for accesibility with gtk20 and gtk30 and also cannot be used without X11. This should cut the number of dependencies and unused IPC for a minimalistic desktop. The option was originally removed due to lack of testing i.e., "no core developer is gonna run X11 with atk-bridge disabled". What that means in context of running Gtk apps without Gnome (or Gnome defaults) is unclear. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=677491#c43 --- Comment #1 from Bugzilla Automation <bugzilla@FreeBSD.org> --- Auto-assigned to maintainer gnome@FreeBSD.org
