Known Issues: - There is currently an issue with Firefox and 'Click Element At Coordinates' (added in Selenium2Library 1.3.0) does not currently work at Firefox. New ports should be stage-aware. For python ports it's quite easy do. Just add PYDISTUTILS_AUTOPLIST=yes and remove NO_STAGE=yes from Makefile. After that, you may also freely remove pkg-plist, because it's contents will now be generated automatically. 2. LICENSE=BSD - portlint warns about recent change in this area. Plain "BSD" value in this knob is deprecated. It should look like BSD[?]CLAUSE. I see on official site that the actual license of django-auth-ldap is 2-clause BSD license, so you need to change it to LICENSE=BSD2CLAUSE. Except of that, this new port is fine! -- Regards, Ruslan T.O.S. Often, this is due to a better alternative having become available and/or the cessation of development on the existing port. In some cases, ports are marked for removal because they fail to build and install correctly from their sources, or otherwise fail in operation. The ports, and the reason and date that they have been scheduled for removal, are listed below. If no one has stepped forward before that time to propose a way to fix the problems (such as via a PR), the ports will be deleted. portname: lang/python31 description: Interpreted object-oriented programming language maintainer: python@FreeBSD.org deprecated because: Python 3.1 will be end-of-life soon, please migrate to lang/python33 expiration date: 2014-06-01 build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=lang&portname=python31 If this problem is one that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. On the other hand, if you no longer wish to maintain this port (or ports), please reply with a message stating that, and accept our thanks for your efforts in the past. Thanks for your efforts to help improve FreeBSD. The porter's handbook also outlines that ports should stick to this practice. I would like to force the usage of PYTHON_PKGNAMEPREFIX for ports, which use distutils (and hence are always targeting a specific python version), by implicitly setting PKGNAMEPREFIX=PYTHON_PKGNAMEPREFIX in bsd.python.mk. This makes port Makefiles less error-prone and ensures that the ports stick to a common naming scheme, when it comes to packages. At the same time, I would like to deprecate and remove PYTHON_PKGNAMESUFFIX, since it has no practical use or relevance other than creating an inconsistent package naming scheme. Its original purpose (to be read in r91400) does not hold true in my opinion, and I am explaining the reaon(s) for that (among other things when it comes to naming python ports) at http://www.sysfault.org/posts/freebsd-python-ports-pre-suffix.html. I just want to add, that it would be great to also automatically adjust DOCSDIR and EXAMPLESDIR with correct prefix to make docs/examples, installed by single port, but for different python version simultaneously. This will help to avoid conflicts. Right now we have this (py-gnupg is just random python port): # make -V DOCSDIR /usr/ports/security/py-gnupg /usr/local/share/doc/gnupg So right now it ever may conflict with gnupg docs, if I understand correctly. I think that correct dirname would be: /usr/local/share/doc/py27-gnupg for python 2.7 and /usr/local/share/doc/py33-gnupg for python 3.3 The same for examples. -- Regards, Ruslan T.O.S. The chmod in post-patch was removing write permission from files that the build is trying to write to. Okay if you're root on a local filesystem, but it fails if you are a regular user (try just 'make' as a regular user) because setup.py tries to write to files in the python_dateutil.egg-info (which are now read-only thanks to the chmod 444 in post-patch). The fix is to change ${SHAREMODE} (0444) to a+r for the chmod. While I was here, I: - added support for staging - moved away from the deprecated easy_install (changes plist, thus bumped PORTREVISION as well) - replaced the deprecated BSD license with BSD3CLAUSE I chose to still use the static pkg-plist rather than use PYDISTUTILS_AUTOPLIST. p.s. bsd.python.mk could probably add PYDISTUTILS_EGGINFO to PLIST_SUB. Port maintainer (nivit@FreeBSD.org) is cc'd.
