Is there a way to update a running BBB system?

I tried doing a cross build and then an install kernel with src and obj =
mounted via NFS but I get..
root@beaglebone:~ # mount
/dev/mmcsd0s2a on / (ufs, local, noatime, journaled soft-updates, =
nfsv4acls)
devfs on /dev (devfs, local)
/dev/mmcsd0s1 on /boot/msdos (msdosfs, local, noatime)
/dev/md0 on /tmp (ufs, local, noatime, soft-updates)
/dev/md1 on /var/log (ufs, local, noatime, soft-updates)
/dev/md2 on /var/tmp (ufs, local, noatime, soft-updates)
freebsd10:/src on /src (nfs)
freebsd10:/usr/obj on /usr/obj (nfs)
root@beaglebone:~ # cd /src/FreeBSD-SVN/
