I suspect this will also happen if = only one of the NICs uses em driver. This happens under heavy traffic conditions (>=3D 10MiBytes/sec in both directions of the bridge) after 1-4 hours. Once the watchdog timeouts, the = link won't pass any more packets, it will detect cable disconn/conn. ifconfig down/ifconfig up won't help at all, a reboot is necessary. I tried the what is suggested here: bug #200221 (ifconfig -tso -vlanhwtso in both intfs) the watchdog doesn't timeout anymore but after a similar period= of time the link becomes unusable (a ping loses ~ 90% packets). The system was actually running fine with snapshots done/deleted every 10 minutes, every 30 minutes, every hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours and every week until it started to behave strange and started to crash. I then rebooted the system, checked everything and even replaced hardware t= hat might have caused this (memory, CPU, motherboard, HBA, basically everything= but the disks itself) with the same or similar hardware that was available. Then suddenly, the second crash, this time FreeBSD didn't do any kernel dum= p or anything similar but just print the stack trace on the monitor and freeze. = And stupid I was I rebooted without taking a picture, but I remember reading the same lines I had in the first crash (which is attached). Stuff I changed about 1 day before the first crash happened: sysctl vfs.zfs.l2arc_noprefetch=3D1 zfs set sync=3Ddisabled data zfs set logbias=3Dthroughput data The system performed faster after these changes, the main reason was that t= he performance was not good enough to keep up with our virtual servers that we= 're running from iSCSI and NFS4. This is all I know at this time that should go in this bug report. Attached= are some files from the first crash that occurred. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org Wed Dec 30 01:03:54 2015 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-amd64@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 09599A55D74 for ; While the only pools I can trigger this without a shutdown/reboot are=20 connected via USB(3) I still see it just before poweroff at shutdown=20 after the "All synced." message. When I try to export a zpool under heavy load (`make -C /use/src -j 4 buildworld` on a 2 core CPU w/ HT) the system locks up completely. I don't think it's related to memory pressure as I haven't seen swap being used during a buildworld (w= ith=20 8 gigs of RAM). On two separate systems with Intel S5520HC motherboards, FreeBSD CURRENT ca= nnot receive any packets on igb0. igb1 works fine, and igb0 works when booted i= nto FreeBSD 9/stable. * Disabling tso, lro, rxcsum, and txcsum has no effect. * tcpdump reveals that igb0 transmits successfully, but fails to receive * Curiously, "netstat -I igb0" shows nonzero values for Ipkts, even though "tcpdump -i igb0" shows no inbound packets at all. * I can't really tell if IPv4 or IPv6 are working, because even ARP doesn't work. * SVN revisions 291495 and 292570 are both bad. I don't know any recent good revision. * Alexander Leidinger reported a similar problem, but didn't specify whether all igb ports were broken or only one (or even whether he had multiple port= s).=20 He reported that 11-CURRENT worked at svn r287323, but failed at r290633. * Alexander also provided the attached patch, which fixes the issue. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org Thu Dec 31 19:31:07 2015 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-amd64@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 44B24A55E66 for ; Thu, 31 Dec 2015 19:31:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 3563B1330 for ; Thu, 31 Dec 2015 19:31:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id tBVJV6Bx091313 for ; Thu, 31 Dec 2015 19:31:07 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 205743] null pointer dereference in PF running a vimage jail Date: Thu, 31 Dec 2015 19:31:06 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: 11.0-CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Many People X-Bugzilla-Who: mmoll@freebsd.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-pf@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: cc Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailman-Approved-At: Thu, 31 Dec 2015 19:37:09 +0000 X-BeenThere: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.20 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the AMD64 platform List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 31 Dec 2015 19:31:07 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D205743 Michael Moll changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |mmoll@freebsd.org --- Comment #1 from Michael Moll --- Not sure about it, but does https://reviews.freebsd.org/D1944 fix this pani= c?
