Development is done in the open, so anyone can get the latest version. You can download an alpha snapshot from ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/snapshots/amd64/ Alternatively, you can build the most recent version yourself. See the documentation in the handbook: https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/handbook/makeworld.html If you find any issues you can report them here: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi More information on how to report problems: https://www.freebsd.org/support.html Regards, Kristof From owner-freebsd-drivers@freebsd.org Tue Jun 28 20:37:24 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-drivers@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id AFE86B86BED for ; Tue, 28 Jun 2016 20:37:24 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from angelika@beaconline.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 924CA26CF for ; Tue, 28 Jun 2016 20:37:24 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from angelika@beaconline.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 8DF92B86BEC; Tue, 28 Jun 2016 20:37:24 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: drivers@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8D974B86BEB for ; Tue, 28 Jun 2016 20:37:24 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from angelika@beaconline.org) Received: from butterfly.cherry.relay.mailchannels.net (butterfly.cherry.relay.mailchannels.net [23.83.223.27]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 7004F26C9 for ; Tue, 28 Jun 2016 20:37:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from angelika@beaconline.org) X-Sender-Id: asmallorange|x-authuser|angelika@beaconline.org Received: from relay.mailchannels.net (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by relay.mailchannels.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id C0338A02FA for ; Tue, 28 Jun 2016 13:55:00 +0000 (UTC) Received: from uk14.myserverhosts.com (ip-10-213-0-221.us-west-2.compute.internal [10.213.0.221]) by relay.mailchannels.net (Postfix) with ESMTPA id CB44CA05BC for ; Tue, 28 Jun 2016 13:54:59 +0000 (UTC) X-Sender-Id: asmallorange|x-authuser|angelika@beaconline.org Received: from uk14.myserverhosts.com (uk14.myserverhosts.com [10.132.194.146]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384) by 0.0.0.0:2500 (trex/5.6.15); Tue, 28 Jun 2016 13:55:00 +0000 X-MC-Relay: Bad X-MailChannels-SenderId: asmallorange|x-authuser|angelika@beaconline.org X-MailChannels-Auth-Id: asmallorange X-MC-Loop-Signature: 1467122100386:3752831775 X-MC-Ingress-Time: 1467122100386 Received: from [122.173.169.227] (port=11237 helo=imark) by uk14.myserverhosts.com with esmtpa (Exim 4.87) (envelope-from ) id 1bHrfw-000723-DE for drivers@freebsd.org; Tue, 28 Jun 2016 07:59:33 -0400 Reply-To: From: "Nancy Gill" To: Subject: Re: Looking for Website Upgrade Date: Tue, 28 Jun 2016 17:23:04 +0530 Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook 14.0 Thread-Index: AdHRMjLurMFO4DbgShGr1+mR66I0uw== Content-Language: en-us X-AuthUser: angelika@beaconline.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.22 X-BeenThere: freebsd-drivers@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.22 Precedence: list List-Id: Writing device drivers for FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 28 Jun 2016 20:37:24 -0000 Hi, I was wondering if you got a chance to review my previous email. The file I insmod are drm.ko, drm_kms_helper.ko and mydrm.ko. It calls my probe function and loads mydrm.ko, and also creates card0 in /dev folder. In user space I call the function ret = drmAvailable(). The result is as follows: It seems it calls preclose because drmAvailable calls close(fd) before exiting. drmAvailable also send the Version IOCTL to DRM. In My case it returns the error number of 0x19 = 25, which corresponds to ENOTTY. Please suggest me how to remove this error and make the ioctls successful. drmOpenDevice: buf = /dev/dri/card0 --drmOpenDevice: open result is 5, (OK) drmOpenDevice will return now with fd = 0x5 drmAvailable - before calling drmGetVersion API: drmGetVersion DRM_IOCTL_VERSION = 0xc0246400 drmIoctl fd = 0x5 request = 0xc0246400 errno = 0x19 Thanks and Regards Shailendra -- View this message in context: http://freebsd.1045724.n5.nabble.com/dev-dri-card0-gives-ENOTTY-error-tp6110741.html Sent from the freebsd-drivers mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
