You didn't mention what version of FreeBSD you were trying to use. If you didn't do this with 10.2, you'll probably be disappointed. Did you put the following in the /boot/loader.conf on the filesystem? zfs_load="YES" You steps are almost identical to the ones that I have used on my sparcs running FreeBSD. The biggest difference is that you're trying a to use a zrail filesystem - I've only ever tried a zmirror. The zmirror option works great. -Kurt From owner-freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org Wed Jan 27 16:06:22 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-sparc64@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6DEEAA6F869 for ; Wed, 27 Jan 2016 16:06:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from lidl@pix.net) Received: from hydra.pix.net (hydra.pix.net [IPv6:2001:470:e254:10::4]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "mail.pix.net", Issuer "Pix.Com Technologies, LLC CA" (not verified)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 27B5A1443 for ; Wed, 27 Jan 2016 16:06:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from lidl@pix.net) Received: from torb.pix.net (torb.pix.net [192.168.16.32]) (authenticated bits=0) by hydra.pix.net (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTPA id u0RG6KpP093090; Wed, 27 Jan 2016 11:06:21 -0500 (EST) (envelope-from lidl@pix.net) Subject: Re: ZFS: i/o error - all block copies unavailable To: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org References: <56A89E48.2010500@tashicell.com> <56A8E997.3030806@pix.net> From: Kurt Lidl Message-ID: <56A8EAFC.3090103@pix.net> Date: Wed, 27 Jan 2016 11:06:20 -0500 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/38.5.1 MIME-Version: 1.0 In-Reply-To: <56A8E997.3030806@pix.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1252; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-BeenThere: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.20 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the Sparc List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 27 Jan 2016 16:06:22 -0000 On 1/27/16 11:00 AM, Kurt Lidl wrote: > You steps are almost identical to the ones that I have used on my sparcs > running FreeBSD. Sorry for any confusion that I might have caused. -Kurt
