I thought about USB3, I know its theoretically possible - virtual ethernet anyone? Does someone have any kind of information about this or knows if it has been done on FreeBSD? Anyone ever did experiment with it? I didnt find any information about this on the net.... regards, Georg From owner-freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org Tue Feb 5 12:24:51 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-amd64@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C927A14B5DCE for ; Tue, 5 Feb 2019 12:24:51 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mozolevsky@gmail.com) Received: from mail-ot1-f48.google.com (mail-ot1-f48.google.com [209.85.210.48]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "Google Internet Authority G3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id B7EF76EFFC for ; Tue, 5 Feb 2019 12:24:50 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mozolevsky@gmail.com) Received: by mail-ot1-f48.google.com with SMTP id e12so5322642otl.5 for ; Tue, 05 Feb 2019 04:24:50 -0800 (PST) X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:references:in-reply-to:from:date :message-id:subject:to:cc; bh=iScRWK/XiF11X6NciG/n4ZGEVpu2ku5HWKd/6QLbMlk=; b=eUbWH3rGE6qKZ6Qif1noS/zqw55rFT8kY634NLRrpIKnJsySEtoUOJImo4LiUL4Znz gG9pQm87ThBRAyEOlZrYWD0vvkZ93HiWTuloi51DYxoi7D4d9tL6V17/f6vIkncQEd3g TyYXXY2wPwbbDGsgw8PFl3Jnto1fMz3bXKqp5INUtNgFVQvQBxTrJWHGdAPQIVwqadIk BMQxhdzIRaXihy2kLEqlNZZNPXfQKIclwas/Xn9gA9kH0BqALYsrBh4qNtkCLsxrXyVo swqbm0SA0BH/wyW9jvdXljjjzpnaCzb8xDQqJLaBlnD7N8VbF0/JhLB7aC/ilIU02Wlg IcHA== X-Gm-Message-State: AHQUAubtLhYDZUkpWgCKW9VeVToUs7dtyreRQdwL+ei+xwX+EdAWq7Bi eddVpzu+47EhiMmvOa1Nxng44JWSbWPvlboo5dZBNjmU X-Google-Smtp-Source: AHgI3IZJPrf2v8E625a4ZKC1u2aEmePcYE3I/NaSFH697f10WcSbzCdnH9ZOQd6Hbbni5E2X2f72thSI+ynHdiNXNFY= X-Received: by 2002:a9d:225:: with SMTP id 34mr2622928otb.224.1549369483632; Tue, 05 Feb 2019 04:24:43 -0800 (PST) MIME-Version: 1.0 References: In-Reply-To: From: Igor Mozolevsky Date: Tue, 5 Feb 2019 12:24:06 +0000 Message-ID: Subject: Re: Archiving higher bandwith than 1GBit/s on FreeBSD? Im looking forward to use something for my Laptop and maybe for a NUC. So PCI-E cards are out of the game... else it would be easy. Maybe Thunderbolt 3 is a solution, I read there are devices... but I guesss then again there is no FreeBSD support for drivers.
