The main problem is adding if_tuntap(4) to if_bridge(4) with igb(4) interface. When you add an interfa= ce without support TSO/CSUM e.t.c to if_bridge(4) which already has igb(4) with TSO/CSUM enabled, than if_bridge(4) resets offload flags on all interfaces. This is leads to link flap on igb(4). So, it's work as expected, and described in if_bridge(4) manual page: The TOE, TSO, TXCSUM and TXCSUM6 capabilities on all interfaces added = to the bridge are disabled if any of the interfaces doesn't support/enable them. The LRO capability is always disabled. All the capabilities are restored when the interface is removed from the bridge. Changing capabilities at run-time may cause NIC reinit and a link flap. As a workaround, you can turn off the offload flags on the igb(4) interface= at boot time in /etc/rc.conf --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-virtualization@freebsd.org Sun Sep 20 21:01:11 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-virtualization@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CBDE53F17C0 for ; Sun, 20 Sep 2020 21:01:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4Bvg3C4K5nz4XFJ for ; Sun, 20 Sep 2020 21:01:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 3B6313F1662; Sun, 20 Sep 2020 21:01:11 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: virtualization@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 30E393F17BD for ; Sun, 20 Sep 2020 21:01:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4Bvg3B4wMGz4XPQ for ; Sun, 20 Sep 2020 21:01:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id D99592357D for ; Sun, 20 Sep 2020 21:01:09 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 08KL19tL091141 for ; Sun, 20 Sep 2020 21:01:09 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: (from bugzilla@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 08KL19eb091140 for virtualization@FreeBSD.org; Sun, 20 Sep 2020 21:01:09 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Message-Id: <202009202101.08KL19eb091140@kenobi.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: bugzilla set sender to bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org To: virtualization@FreeBSD.org Subject: Problem reports for virtualization@FreeBSD.org that need special attention Date: Sun, 20 Sep 2020 21:01:09 +0000 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.33 X-BeenThere: freebsd-virtualization@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.33 Precedence: list List-Id: "Discussion of various virtualization techniques FreeBSD supports." On a OpenSUSE 15.2 bhyve guest, audio works perfectly fine. However, on FreeBSD 12.1 only noise comes out. Using /dev/dsp4 (which is a USB sound device), audio works fine, but not on /dev/dsp0, the default sound device on my system. The framebuffer is 16MB, and the max of 1920x1200 was chosen as a compromise between a common resolution that would fit in that, the amount of CPU used in the tile-based motion detection, and the amount of bandwidth required to transmit full-screen's worth of data at 30 fps. The original intent was the VNC console would only be used for setup, and after that a more efficient remote desktop would be set up on the guest. (More details at https://people.freebsd.org/~grehan/talks/bhyve_bsdtw_bhyve_graphics.pdf) later, Peter.
