I've bcc'd a number of you, but this is in general a request to get things updated as well. I'm willing to add the text and do basic editing if you send me the general idea of what needs to be said. Please only send me text if you know exactly what these flags mean and how they are used. Yes, I can speculate like everyone, but I want people who have actually USED these flags to comment on them, and make sure they are properly documented.. Some are only used on the outbound path, others on the inbound, and despite the current docs both... There are a large number of flags that have been added over the years... and it'd be good to catch up with that work... Yes, I could spend hours reading the code, but it'd be much easier to just ask the people who did the work. -- John-Mark Gurney Voice: +1 415 225 5579 "All that I will do, has been done, All that I have, has not." I try the new module and it does not seem to work for me. I use mullvad VPN and wireguard-go but want to replace wireguard-go with kernelspace implementation. A have the following configuration: [Interface] PrivateKey = Address = 10.66.116.246/32,fc00:bbbb:bbbb:bb01::3:74f5/128 DNS = 193.138.218.74 [Peer] PublicKey = jJVG/lv7RikDG0FMsV3WJgfot5XecPm9aHDrYvU+NAM= AllowedIPs = 0.0.0.0/0,::0/0 Endpoint = 86.107.21.34:51820 So I try this (12345 is just a random port, I do not have it in the configuration): ifconfig wg0 create private-key listen-port 12345 ifconfig wg0 peer public-key allowed-ips 0.0.0.0/0 allowed-ips ::0/0 endpoint 86.107.21.34:51820 ifconfig wg0 inet 10.66.116.246/32 ifconfig wg0 inet6 fc00:bbbb:bbbb:bb01::3:74f5/128 The interface goes up after "ifconfig wg0 inet" command. Then I add new routes just like wireguard-go does: route -q -n add -inet6 ::/1 -interface wg0 route -q -n add -inet6 8000::/1 -interface wg0 route -q -n add -inet 0.0.0.0/1 -interface wg0 route -q -n add -inet 128.0.0.0/1 -interface wg0 route -q -n add -inet 86.107.21.34 -gateway 192.168.20.1 192.168.20.1 is just my default gateway. I also set sysctl net.inet.ip.forwarding = 1 (some manual told so). Nothing works in the result, I can ping my gateway and the endpoint, but nothing else. Wireshark says there are "WireGuard Handshake Initiation" packages from re0 (my interface connected to the internet) to the endpoint, but no responses. What can be wrong? I have also tried to specify it with prefix length, like this one: [2001:db8:0:1::1]/128:54333, but neither works. I got only some errors: matchaddr failed peer not found - dropping 0xfffff802099b6700 wg0: wg_peer_add bad length for endpoint 28 Is it possible to utilize IPv6 address as an endpoint for the tunnel with this implementation? Increase of various buffers may help against very short traffic bursts or limited time interface congestion. It won't help in case you have permanent (or nearly permanent) link overload. Therefore, the problem is in a code processing incoming stream(s): either it locks for long time on something, or it just has no enough raw CPU horsepower to deal with incoming stream. Look at "top -SHPI" CPU counters, if your CPU cores are loaded evenly; if some of cores became overloaded sometimes. You should also draw per-cpu load graphs. You get only an average via standard SNMP MIBs and average can be misleading and hide 100% load of some cores. If you really have no overloaded cores, then this should be locking problem that prevents processing code to do its job timely.
