The patch[1]=20 - reduces the Valid Lifetime from 1 week to 2 days, - limits the number of concurrent temporary addresses per prefix to 2, - deprecates the use of MD5 as the algorithm for computing the temporary II= Ds, - introduces using different interface-ids for each temporary address. RFC 8981 also "Removes the recommendation that temporary addresses be disab= led by default. This is in line with BCP 188 ([RFC7258]) and also with BCP 204 ([RFC7934]).", so perhaps also "net.inet6.ip6.use_tempaddr" should be bumpe= d to "1"" Leaving "net.inet6.ip6.prefer_tempaddr" at "0" (as is) should not introduce any breakage.=20 Perhaps Fernando's patch could be put on the review on Phabricator and proceeded further? A quick look at it, the constant `MAX_DESYNC_FACTOR` is also changed. It is `0.4 * TEMP_PREFERRED_LIFETIME` and was `10 minutes`. The computing of `DESYNC_FACTOR` also changed. I think we should take all the changes into account. 1. https://author-tools.ietf.org/iddiff?url1=3Ddraft-ietf-6man-rfc4941bis-07&u= rl2=3Drfc8981&difftype=3D--html (In reply to Marek Zarychta from comment #11) > Perhaps Fernando's patch could be put on the review on Phabricator and pr= oceeded further? > [1] https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-net/2020-April/055689.html Sound good. Phabricator is a better place for the review ;) As this is a behavior change, it can not catch up with 14.0 . And it should= be completed (at best effort) before it goes into current/15. I can put it into my working queue ;) --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From nobody Mon Sep 25 10:32:09 2023 X-Original-To: net@mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4RvK1j65Qmz4vLv8 for ; I have a chance to get some bhyve VMs running on new hardware with Mellanox 100Gb/s cards. After creating VF entries with iovctl at boottime, a devctl command to detach the mlx5 driver and attach the ppt driver causes the kernel to crash: # devctl set driver -f mlx5_core6 ppt backtrace here: https://people.freebsd.org/~jwd/mlx5.dump.txt If I create the VF in ppt mode I can correctly detach the ppt driver and attach the mlx5 driver. Also of note, if multiple VFs are created and a single VF is targeted for the detach operation, all VFs are operated on. It seems the VFs are not seen as individual entities but a group of children in detach_method(). Thoughts?
