  I have a similar problem :

   On boot, it says :


   checking quotas :
     clnttcp_create: RPC: error: RPC protmapper failure
     clnttcp_create: RPC: error: RPC protmapper failure
     clnttcp_create: RPC: error: RPC protmapper failure
   done.

 Nobody resolved my problem. :(
 If you have some answer to your problem, PLEASE, let me know, this may 
be the answer o mine, too. :)
