Well, that client uses old naming convention always present in locale.alias, so it will be backward compatible with X. I don't suggest to _replace_ old names by new ones, I suggest to _add_ new names. It can be not compatible with FreeBSD own locale, but such result even isn't expected. Imagine Sun's client with its usual LANG=iso_8859-1 (BTW, Sun use RFC 1700 compatible name!), FreeBSD locale does nothing, but X locale still works. -- Andrey A.
