'noexec' works fine. If you try to execute a file on an MSDOS filesystem marked 'noexec,' you get permission denied. The 'noexec' option has no effect on permission bits for MSDOS, UFS, or any other filesystem. As for the rest of the problems, IMHO, MSDOS filesystems have limitations.
