FreeBSD 5.x or later > will not support it, FreeBSD 4.x may, but I'm not sure. 3.x is the last FreeBSD supporting direct attached MFM/RLL/ESDI disks. Likely a computer that has no BIOS support for ata disks will have lots of other shortcomings too.
