I'm guessing that the R version range they list as supported is just
out-of-date.  It was first written in the release notes for their September
2020 pre-release.  I'm not aware of any changes that would break compatibil=
ity
between R versions 4.0 and 4.2.

That said this bug has been open for a bit under three years without any
progress.  Unless Conrad or someone else is motivated to do the work to get=
 it
running, closing the bug makes sense to me.
