I feel stupid. MAKEDEV calls itself recursively. Thus when I did:
sh /usr/src/etc/etc.386/MAKEDEV sd1, it called the MAKEDEV in /dev instead of
the original one. Maybe it should call $0 instead of MAKEDEV?
