	No.  I have been using my 1742 card with 386BSD and FreeBSD for 
years.  It is very well supported.  I would suspect a problem with the 
controler, cables and/or termination before suspecting the drivers.

	FYI, today I am running 2.1.  No problems.  A month ago I was 
running 2.2-current also without problem.
