 Something is weird - compare for example the output of
 http://pointyhat.freebsd.org/errorlogs/i386-6-full-logs/imake-6.9.0.log
 and notice the lack of
 "making imake with BOOTSTRAPCFLAGS= and CROSSCOMPILEFLAGS=-DCROSSCOMPILEDIR="" 
 in config/imake"
 line.
 Could you post the output of
 
 cd /usr/ports/devel/imake-6
 make clean patch
 cd /usr/ports/devel/imake-6/work/xc/config/imake
 make -dl -f Makefile.ini imake
