(although another word comes to mind). I'm afraid so - I see nothing in sysinstall which has changed, and if /dev/mcd0a no longer works then sysinstall just isn't going to see it. For what it's worth, those drives were incredibly slow, are totally obsolete and perhaps this is a good reason for an upgrade. :) Jordan
