I've found on the Wine website that most of applications my wife uses are running well enough under Wine. Wine however core dumps for me under -current, and checking the mailing list archives it looks like no one is actively supporting the Wine port. Is this the case? Also, I wanted to take a quick look at the core dump, but gdb is apparently elf, while I had to compile Wine aout due to not having elf X. Is an elf version of X available as a binary anywhere?
