You need to recompile the proper CPU class into your kernel. In the meantime you can boot the generic kernel, unfortunately I have no idea how to do that with the newer 3.x boot loader. Sorry about that :( Hopefully someone else on the list can tell you how. (hit space at the bootup prompt and then type 'help', it should tell you what you need to know there.) BUT, once you boot the generic kernel, it'll list the CPU class detected right near the top, after the copyright message. This is the CPU class that you need to define in your kernel. -Chris > -----Original Message----- > From: Air Edwin [SMTP:airedwin@hotmail.com] > Sent: Sunday, September 05, 1999 5:21 PM > To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.org > Subject: kernel boot > > i got a panic CPU class not configured error when i booted my new kernel > how do i fix that? > > ______________________________________________________ > Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
