Does the drive fiddle > with the tape when you insert it? Yes it does. Just like when you load a tape into a QIC-60 or QIC-150 tape drive. It is a brand new cartridge. I couldn't even do an mt /dev/rsa0 status. I received the same error. I am going to play with it tonight and try another new tape.
